Remember how the giddy lefty media thrilled to call New York’s Andrew Cuomo “The Love Gov?” Well, they hate Florida’s Ron DeSantis with exactly the same intensity. And now, the governor they love to hate strikes again. Nine weeks earlier than Florida, the Republican signed a bill that would ban abortions after 15 week of pregnancy.
The wailing, gnashing and crying of teeth is to be expected.
According to FNC, “The legislation allows for abortions past 15 weeks only in situations involving a ‘fatal fetal abnormality,’ and makes no exceptions for rape or incest.” Mississippi also passed a 15-week ban this year, which is currently being challenged in federal court.
The Florida signing follows on the heels of his approving Florida’s “Responsible Fatherhood Act,” a $70 million initiative to promote and teach fatherhood in the state. Progressives being the progressives they are, that bill was also rejected by them. Tony Dungy (NFL coach and Christian activist) was attacked for his applauding the bill.
Dungy countered that nobody was complaining 14 years back when Barack Obama said exactly the same thing as Gov. DeSantis did. But self-awareness and honesty not really being a progressive strong suit, Dungy shouldn’t expect any apologies.
DeSantis? Well, you can only judge a man from his friends.
