Milwaukee GOP Mocks RBG’s Age, Victims of Sexual Assault in One Embarrassing Tweet

“Abraham Lincoln grabbed my ass in 1862.”

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, 85, was made the butt of a crass joke in a meme posted to Twitter Monday by an account that identifies as the Milwaukee County GOP.

The meme was an image of the justice captioned, “Abraham Lincoln grabbed my ass in 1862.”

The meme employed some of the far right’s most popular standards, including casual ageism, subtle sexism, and an overt mockery of legitimate claims of sexual assault.

The tweet came out as national debate raged over accusations of sexual assault against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the post was later deleted after it reached out the county party’s chairman for comment.

Milwaukee County Rep. JoCasta Zamarripa, a Democrat, told The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in response to the meme, “It’s clear that sexual harassment is a joke to them. I can’t imagine what it’s like to have to endure this public humiliation.”

For her part, Ginsburg has become something of a national treasure. She has made numerous television appearances as of late, including demonstrating the RGB workout with “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert. Even the decorative collars with which she adorns her courtroom robes have been analyzed ad nauseam. Ginsburg’s dissent collar even inspired a line of fashion accessories.

While the 85 year old Ginsburg certainly never crossed paths with President Lincoln, she has repeatedly said that she won’t be slowing down as long as she feels she can do her job ”full-steam.”
