Meet the New Boss, Same as the Old Boss – Opinion

Life is full of three certainties: Death, taxes and Democrats who rule like far-left dictatorial loons.

This is an example. New York City got the first taste of its new boss today, and not shockingly at all, he’s pretty much the same as the old boss. Eric Adams, who was officially sworn-in shortly after midnight, signed two executive directives and then took to Twitter to show off his accomplishments.

First, he granted himself emergency power to do anything he pleases. The other re-upped the beleaguered city’s vaccine passport system.

How is the much-lauded vaccination passport system, along with all other emergency measures, working for the Big Apple In a phrase, not very well, and I’m not sure I could understate things more if I tried. The worst COVID-19 epidemic is occurring in Washington, D.C., while New York City has seen a 1,342 percent increase in cases since Bill de Blasio’s vaccine passport program.

Normal, rational people would see those results, but they’d be shocked to learn that vaccination passports don’t do anything to improve COVID. Adams, however, isn’t a normal person. Rather, he’s your run-of-the-mill, liberal Democrat that doesn’t have the political backbone to actually govern in a logical manner. Adams and de Blasio are only different in that Adams made remarks about controlling crime, which is another big issue the city has to deal with.

Would anyone like to bet on Adams keeping his promise of getting tough on crime and he actually does? Yeah, I didn’t think so. He’ll be stumping to “reimagine” the police within six months.

As to New York City’s vaccine mandate, which was officially put in place right before de Blasio left office, Adams vowed to revisit it during his campaign. But with today’s move on vaccine passports, you can probably guess how he’ll come down on the issue of mandates.

And all the while, Adams’ city will continue to circle the drain, seeing businesses go bankrupt, tourism drop, students suffer, and COVID spread. There was a chance for him to do something different. But instead, Adams went the exact same way Democrats go once in office. Never buy into the “sane Democrat” argument during a political campaign. You will be let down by them.
