Left’s DeSantis Conspiracy Gets Blown Up but Some Are So Vile, They Just Can’t Let It Go – Opinion

We previously reported how the “Where’s Ron” conspiracy theory Democrats and liberal media types’ pushing against Florida Gov. They were shocked to see Ron DeSantis’s reaction. They’d been trying to claim that he’s been missing over the past week during the “crisis” in his state.

As we noted, not only wasn’t he missing, he’d been working, doing meetings, and in the office this week, despite it being a holiday week. So the media were aware that his office releases his daily schedule regularly to the media. Some believed the conspiracy, but others accepted it anyway. He was still employed, but he also took his wife Casey along to receive treatment for cancer.

A few honest media people backed DeSantis up.

People like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who were behind the bizarre conspiracy became even more slimier after the revelations regarding his wife.

DeSantis’ spokesperson called out AOC for her signing aboard the idiocy.

But even after the information about DeSantis’ wife was revealed, there were still some in the liberal media who couldn’t let their horrible tribalism go and continued the attack because they couldn’t be bothered to just do their job and find the truth.

“Spin, spin spin,” Florida-based journalist Leslie Abravanel tweeted. “While I feel for his wife, cancer treatments take a few hours. He is governor in a state that’s in serious crisis. If he can’t govern and be there for his wife he should resign.”

Um, journalist? This schedule was made available to media. He was still at work. It was simply ignored. His wife’s treatments took more than a few hours, since the honest media said he was “by his wife’s side during cancer treatment for much of this week.” But this is an example of just how vile the left can be when they abandon morality for the pull of politics. It is difficult to imagine how you could treat someone whose family has to cope with the effects of cancer. These people live in fantasy.

Another reason why I was interested in pointing this out is that it is an accusation not of DeSantis, but of Abravanel’s Democratic supporters. All she said is applicable more to Joe Biden who claimed there wasn’t a federal solution because the number of COVID cases was the highest in history and ran to the coast for a week. Also, Gov. New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy just returned eight days ago from Costa Rica. New Jersey has the highest number of cases in the country. Next, there was Pete Buttigieg (Biden Transportation Secretary) who quit his post for two months unannounced leave as a result of the supply-chain crisis. California governor was next. Gavin Newsom who just inexplicably disappeared for ten days for “family obligations” and canceled engagements that he had scheduled — including being at a climate summit.

So, if we apply Abravanel’s standard, then these Democrats should be submitting their resignation letters. But not only aren’t they doing that, the same folks who had a fit over the imaginary “DeSantis missing” conspiracy didn’t have any issue or call any of these Democrats for going on vacation/taking off. Indeed, Abravanel sent Buttigieg congratulations.

Meanwhile, DeSantis celebrated the New Year at a concert last night, touting the “freest state in the United States.”

“I wish you all a Happy New Year,” DeSantis told the crowd in attendance. “I’m glad we’re going to be able to celebrate the new year in the freest state of the United States.”

“If you’ve seen what’s happened over the past year and a half in this country – Florida, we stood up for your freedom, we stood up for your rights,” DeSantis said. “We were not going to let government take away the rights that are the gift from God, not from government.”

Now that’s the kind of “missing” we all could use.
