Mark Levin Was Right: Networks Quickly Drop Gruesome Migrant Deaths

Mark Levin was correct. These networks swiftly dropped 53 horrific deaths of migrants. They were human traffickers’ victims. The hot truck was too oppressive at the border. Levin had predicted that Tuesday’s grisly discovery in San Antonio of dead and dying Texas migrants would be quickly buried. It was.

The radio host led off his Tuesday show with this prediction: “It will happen and it will pass. It won’t be something that anyone will remember or discuss in the next three or four days. It will be hellish. The border will remain hellish. People will still die.”

That’s exactly what happened. This story was first covered by the night news broadcasts on June 28. They proceeded to cover it on ABC’s World News TonightThe CBS Evening NewsThe NBC Nightly NewsIt disappeared on June 30, and was still there as of July 31. It was the most brutal human smuggling operation ever attempted in American history. Just 48 seconds suggested that Joe Biden might be to blame.

Here’s World News Tonight’s David Muir last Tuesday:

This Tuesday night’s headlines will focus on the second most important story: what the authorities believe to be the worst human smuggling incident in American history. It is staggering to see the death toll. San Antonio has lost at least 51 lives. What we are learning tonight is what the worker discovered in that truck.

The first night’s coverage amounted to six minutes and 47 seconds. Only 15 seconds were used to mention the president. After NBC reporter Morgan Chesky described the “horrific human tragedy,” he vaguely mentioned “Washington gridlock over immigration.” It wasn’t until this moment that Biden was mentioned.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott also sounding off, writing “These deaths are on Biden and a result of his deadly open border policies.” In a statement, President Biden said, “Exploiting vulnerable individuals for profits is shameful, as is political grandstanding during tragedy.”

There were an additional 6 minutes and 42 seconds on night 2. World News Tonight Reporter Matt Gutman gave 33 seconds to Biden. This brings the total time at 48 seconds. June 30, night 3, ABC was the only one to report on human misery. It was for only 28 seconds.

The evening newscasts and three nights were completed. Here’s Mark Levin on June 28 correctly predicting the quick exit:

“You’re not supposed to open up a truck and see stacks of bodies in there,” said Chief William McManus at a press conference. Fifty one migrants died in the back of a tractor trailer in San Antonio and there were others in there who were suffocating….This is a mass death….Ladies and gentlemen, look, if you don’t have an organized, managed system of immigration, this is what happens. The drug cartels, criminal gangs, mobsters, they’re trafficking people. They traffic in people. They are even killing people. What number of people have been killed crossing the border since Biden became president?

….

It will happen and it will pass. It won’t be something that anyone will remember or discuss in the next three to four day. It will be hellish. The border will remain hellish. People will still die. They’ll continue transporting people all over the country, and then release them in their own name. As these numbers increase, so do the deaths. Each community sees an increase in criminal activity. This is what’s going on on the southern border.

The death of such men and women was eliminated from both the morning and evening programs after June 30, Only exception was the Sunday chat show on July 3. Face the Nation. This was not part of our NewsBusters analysis. Evening newscast coverage was examined. Host Margaret Brennan briefly mentioned “this horrific trafficking, the worst smuggling tragedy in U.S. history.” She then asked Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas: “How did this smuggler get these people across? Fifty-three people died.”

NewsBusters studies of the crisis at the border have repeatedly found that the network evening newscasts don’t want to cover this story. It was abandoned completely in December 2021, January 2022, and February 2022. Despite spurts of coverage here and there, one thing is clear: The spiraling situation at the border is a disaster the networks don’t want pinned on Joe Biden. So they simply pretend it isn’t happening.
