MSNBC’s ReidOut Hosting Joy Reid has built a career on rhetoric full of incitement and truly hideous rhetoric against tens of millions of conservatives and Republicans or anyone who dares to stray from her worldview, so it was no surprise on Tuesday when she warned that, unless they’re put down, “[w]e may be in the waning years of America as a democracy” as the “Jonestown”-like right will do anything to obtain power.
And along with a panel that assisted her in claiming GOP-appointed judges are illegitimate, Reid told viewers they should welcome “a number of rational, pro-democracy Republicans have spoken out in support of electing Democrats” seeing as how some Democrats aren’t “afraid enough” of their terrorist family members, friends, and neighbors.
Reid began with far-left fear porn that’s long since strayed into fetish territory:
We start ReidOut With a warning. It could be the end. America may be entering its final years as a democratic country. Yes, I do. It’s all in my head. Yes, I do. This sounds exaggerated. I’m not exaggerating. The Republican Party is one of two main parties. Donald Trump has taken control of it and spread the disease of big lies throughout its ranks.
Reid, enraged by a House Republican tweet about a National Divorce, continued her insane lunacy. “[W]hat the Republicans hope to turn this country into is so unthinkable — think Texas except everywhere — with the garish and despicable Donald Trump as the maybe permanent president completely unleashed with full control, once again, of the Justice Department, the military, the CIA, the FBI, et cetera, et cetera, plus the nuclear codes.”
Falsely painting the GOP as the pro-censorship part, Reid warned that the right must never be able to hold power again at any level or they’ll never give it up because they (and not Democrats) will never “honor the will of the voters”You must ensure “the end of free elections.”
It is not known if Reid believed that her party was guilty of believing that the elections in 2000, 2004, 2016 were stolen.
Reid went onto to heavily quote faux Republican-turned-Democrat Michael Gerson’sRecent Washington Post Column before doing the same with Boot’s PostscreedHe had promised to vote only for Democrats. She welcomed him on the A-block panel along with a far-left attorney. New York’s failed mayoral candidate Maya Wiley.

REID [F]Two-fold challenges lie ahead for Democrats and Republicans in winning and keeping office. They’ll have to overcome the built in disadvantage at the ballot box that are baked into the system to advantage rural voters, the apportionment of electoral votes, gerrymandered districts, and voter suppression just to name a few. That’s why a number of rational, pro-democracy Republicans have spoken out in support of electing Democrats. As conservative author Max Boot writes, “I’m a single issue voter. My issue is the fate of democracy in the United States.” He says: “Simply put, I have no faith that we will remain a democracy if Republicans win power. Thus, although I’m not a Democrat, I will continue to vote exclusively for Democrats…until the GOP seizes to pose a threat to our freedom.”

BOOT: It is time that every small-d democrat must unite to support the big-D Democratic Party. This column is about, I guess, the argument of my column. It should be $3.5 trillion. Do you think it should be $3.5 trillion or $2 trillion But whatever. Honestly, I’m agnostic. Although I don’t know what size it should be, I know that I cannot look at the Republican Party in its current form and believe that America’s democracy will be saved if they are elected in 2022 or 2024. And that’s why I’m saying we have to vote for big-D Democrats until the threat to our democracy passes.
Next, Reid illustrated how she doesn’t exactly care what happens to the right, blasting them as “a political Jonestown” Straight from Guyana “this charismatic, cult leader and there were some people that questioned” Jim Jones before being “bullied or injured or killed” either by Jones’s thugs or by “drink[ing] that Kool-Aid.”
Having portrayed tens of millions of people as genocidal kooks, Reid fretted to Wiley that their side isn’t “afraid enough” About Republicans “I see them out there arguing whether it’s going to be another billion there, another billion there on their bill like that’s going to matter if we don’t have a democracy.”
Wiley also agreed but said that she was aware of the fact. “some hope about democracy because of Max Boot and he’s not the only one who’s standing up[.]”
Wiley explained that the right has always been this deranged and truly dangerous and was followed by Boot arguing the state of American politics was due to a failure of Republican elites to put down and drive into submission the party’s base voters.
“[T]his is really monumental failure of Republican elites, truly shameful what’s happened because there have always conspiracy mongerers, these racists, these nuts at the grass roots of the party but you’ve never had party leadership that has welcomed them,” gripped Boot
Meanwhile, Reid and Wiley found another culprit for why America’s such a dangerous place: the judiciary.
Specifically, the pair argued Trump judges (and even Reagan judges) were somehow illegitimate (click “expand”):
REID: Maya. I also think the weakening of the courts is a good thing. We just had someone sentenced. 14 days in — in jail. They seemed light sentences. It has been very difficult for the DOJ to resist these sentences. Is part of the problem here is that — and Donald Trump is still walking around. There are cases against him, perhaps in Georgia. Is part of the problem is that our legal system and the Democratic Party are reacting to it to — too gently, too delicately?
Joy WILEY: There are two things we need to keep in mind, Joy. And one is that our judiciary is made up by people appointed by people who win public office. When we talk about partisan voting, voter suppression and all the other things that led to a Trump government that could design courts, we witnessed Mitch McConnell deny Barack Obama the constitutional right to have hearings on his judges. We also saw this in 1980 with Ronald Reagan. We get a more ideological court than we ought to recognize.
