Plus-sized pop star Lizzo accused Chinese social networking site TikTok of removing videos that feature her in a bathing suit.
The Grammy-winning singer insinuated on Tuesday that TikTok was taking down her bikini clips because of her body.

“Tiktok keeps taking down my videos with me in my bathing suit,” Lizzo said in a video posted to Tiktok. “But allows other videos with girls in bathing suits. I wonder why?”
Lizzo’s unapologetic stance on “body positivity” and against “fat shaming” has made her a cause célèbre for more than just her music.

Progressives, in particular, have been drawn to the 31-year-old rapper and singer.
Her exploding popularity has been buoyed largely by support from the LGBT community and progressives who see her as a uniquely woke alternative to most mainstream pop artists.
In a Queerty profile from last year, the “Truth Hurts” singer is described as someone who “spreads sex-positivity and body-positivity through her music and her public persona.”
“Lizzo creates music that celebrates the beauty of being different,” Queerty’s Rashad Sultana wrote in a piece celebrating the singer’s selection as one of 50 “trailblazing individuals who actively ensure society remains moving towards equality, acceptance and dignity for all queer people.”
But not everyone is as thrilled with Lizzo’s brand of empowerment, which often involves the singer showing off a substantial bit of skin.
This isn’t healthy. I don’t even understand what you’re celebrating here? If she was emaciated and all bones I’d be saying the same thing too. Your goal doesn’t have to be perfection…but it’s at least got to be healthy.

In December, videos of Lizzo twerking during a performance at a Lakers-Timberwolves game sparked backlash from social media commenters, who felt the outfit was inappropriate.

“As someone who is overweight… i just want to say… we HAVE to stop excusing inappropriate clothing for body positivity. There is a time and a place to express our sexuality. Having your whole ass out at a family friendly event like a basketball game, IS NOT IT, Lizzo,” tweeted one commenter.
