Yesterday’s “emergency” hearing by the January 6th committee was the worst yet, and I don’t mean for those who were accused of fomenting an insurrection during it. Cassidy Hutchinson (an ex-White House aide) made several false claims that were quickly disproved by the committee.
The supposed “bombshell” was a wild tale about a 74-year-old Trump fighting through two secret service agents and grabbing the steering wheel in order to try to get to the Capitol. What does that prove, even though it was true? Do you think Trump intended to take power there? He was just encouraging people to protest peacefully. Wouldn’t it make more sense that he wanted to go there to help lead said peaceful protest?
Regardless, the steering wheel claim wasn’t true because these types of ridiculous allegations about Trump are almost never true. We now know from the US Secret Service spokesperson that all the involved agents are available to testify.
NEW: @SecretService spox Anthony Gugliemi tells me the agents in Trump’s presidential SUV are “available to testify under oath, responding to [Hutchinson’s] new allegations.” (1/2)

Not shockingly, the lies didn’t stop there. Hutchinson claimed also to have written an email claiming that Trump made a statement concerning the January 6th Riot. Eric Herschmann was the White House attorney who actually wrote it. His prior testimony has been confirmed by him.
So to recap, there were three “bombshells” in yesterday’s testimony. Two of the “bombshells” have been proven false, and the third alleging that AR-15s are present among the crowd has no support and is absurd to the point it’s laughable. It was a huge success!
But don’t be fooled. It’s exactly what Liz Cheney wanted, and all the other dishonest hackers on the committee. They don’t care that they put a liar under oath and had her repeat a bunch of easily disproven nonsense. It was their goal to create headlines that would become part the collective psyche. No one will remember the debunkings, mostly because they won’t even be largely reported.
It doesn’t matter to Liz Cheney and crew that their big witness lied multiple times and that both her major claims were debunked. They got what they wanted, and that’s exactly why the committee shouldn’t exist. pic.twitter.com/rMJ4MRbv7C

Cheney has already moved on to the next scam. Instead of asking Secret Service agents to testify to the matter, Cheney chose to move on. Again, she doesn’t care that the committee was lied to because those lies helped her narrative. This was her ultimate goal.
Yesterday, we learned that Pat Cippollone (WH Counsel) had serious concerns about. Trump’s Jan 6 activities. It’s time for Mr. Cippollone to testify on the record. His testimony is required to resolve any concerns about his previous office’s institutional interests.

We’ve reached the point where I can only assume Cheney is a psychopath. Nothing matters but destroying Trump, and she doesn’t care how many ethical walls she has to bust through like the Kool-aid man to accomplish that.
It’s very uncomfortable to witness, not just because Cheney and company are terrible people, but because Congress is being abused in a way that will have profoundly negative consequences long after these hearings are finally shuttered. I don’t know how the House comes back from this as far as credibility goes.
