Over the last several years, as the strong-arm of big-tech and corporate woke-ism have taken hold, there’s been one common refrain from the left when the right has complained of censorship: Build your own.
The complaints made by those on the right, whether they are about social media platforms banning free distribution of verified news stories or book publishers cancelling conservative authors (see Hunter Biden), have been met with jeering. “Just create your own Twitter” they screamed in response.
These lefties seem to be upset that the conservatives do exactly what they asked them.
Axios AM leads this morning. The echo chamber of the right is much larger than TV and radio. “Conservatives are building their own apps, phones, cryptocurrencies and publishing houses to circumvent the mainstream tech and media ecosystem…” https://t.co/6jVV48NdGX

It was obvious that Brian Stelter would tweet about it, but Axios actually reported the story. Sara Fischer voices concern over the fact that right-wing media thrives in the face of authoritarian left dictates. Analytical examples are used, including right-leaning app downloading and conservative video sites to show that the establishment is in crisis.
It shouldn’t be surprising. A conservative environment is already forming. It will be more than right-leaning news websites and Parler. Conservatives are likely to address multiple areas of the economy, as corporate America gains more power from the left.
Last I checked, that’s exactly what conservatives were told they’d have to do by snarling leftwingers who set out to demean anyone who dared complain of corporate America’s illiberal shift. As censorship has increased, from banks blocking legal gun sales to YouTube demonizing mainstream conservative political commentary, those on the right have set out to “build their own” just as the left demanded. This isn’t necessarily the world we wanted, but it’s the one we were handed by people with tyrannical notions of controlling speech and behavior.
So for anyone on the left to now grind their teeth over that growth in the conservative ecosystem is hilarious — and laughably hypocritical.

Just think about it. These people colluded to ban the President of the United States from social media while Iran’s supreme leader still posts anti-Semitic tripe routinely. While the Taliban can have Twitter accounts, mainline conservatives get kicked from the platform for speaking the fundamental truth that a man does not exist in the same way as a woman. Was that what the left expected? It was that conservatives would simply sit back and accept it. That they wouldn’t grow their own sites and platforms to compete with the gatekeepers?
It’s a reminder to not take for granted what you desire. When you spend years trying to silence others, insisting they find their own way, don’t be shocked when they outsmart and outcompete you.
