LA County Health Orders Employees to Prepare to Enforce Anti-Science Mask Mandate – Opinion

After RedState’s Jennifer O’Connell reported in an exclusive that Los Angeles County USC Medical Center doctors admitted in a video that COVID is not a significant issue for the hospital anymore, those doctors were forced to walk back that claim and revert to standard governmental COVID everything-is-terrible speak.

(Full disclosure: RoxanneHoge is my wife.)

Meanwhile, RedState Managing Editor Jennifer Van Laar disclosed what Los Angeles County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer did not, namely that the author of a study used by the county and the CDC to promote masking in schools was co-authored by none other than her non-medically-trained daughter, Kaitlin Barnes. Although this is undoubtedly a huge conflict of interests, Van Laar points it out that neither the mother nor her daughter shared it.

This is all being done in Los Angeles. national media outletsAccording to an LA County insider, the Health Department recently issued a call for help. The email sent to Environmental Health Specialist employees requesting them to be ready to implement the mask mandate that was headed our way July 29. The email “requests” that all employees of the department sign up for training and to be prepared to work overtime to enforce the edict on the masses.

The email inviting troops to attend is here. The Director of Environmental Health requested that it be sent.

To prepare for Friday’s reinstatement, indoor mask mandate will be reinstated on Friday July 29th. Volunteers are required to work overtime over the weekend of July 30, 31, and August 6, 7.

Hours are expected to last:

Saturday – 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, with a 1 hr. Break for lunch

Sunday – 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, with a 1 hr. Lunch break

These weekends volunteers will visit high-risk businesses for COVID transmission in order to inform/confirm compliance about the reinstatement of the indoor face mask mandate.

The link below will allow field inspectors to register to work overtime regardless of their current assignment. [I have removed the link.]

The Chief Environmental Health specialists are required to be available to supervise the coverage on weekends.  To sign up for overtime, please use the link below.

Volunteers must use ECR and a laptop to create inspection reports. These reports will need to be submitted at the end each shift. A county phone number is required for volunteers.

You must sign up to volunteer by Monday, July 25, 2010.

On Wednesday, July 27, training will take place on the enforcement of indoor mask regulations.  Further information regarding this training is coming soon.

At the request Liza E. Frias Director of Environmental Health, this was written.

In sum, what we have here is an out-of-control Public Health Director whose apparent main goal in life is to impose mask mandates on children and service workers, even when the evidence doesn’t support it and her own daughter is busted in a serious conflict-of-interest problem. You may recall the Little Napoleons in every grocery store demanding your mask. And don’t forget how school administrators feel about children who’d like to breathe or be able to communicate—they say that the kids should just shut up and stay home.

We have been told ad nauseam for the last two years to “follow the science.” That’s a little hard to take seriously when the County Health Director of a major US city—whose policies influence the nation’s—refuses to do the same.

She actually ignores science, and does whatever she likes to satisfy her personal goals and placate her union friends.
