Known Commodity Jesse Watters Becomes Permanent Host of Fox News’ ‘Primetime’ – Opinion

Jesse Watters, congratulations for his permanent! Primetime hosting gig. When Fox News’ PrimetimeThis segment was launched on January 18, 2021. It served as a prelude to Fox News’ opinion segment. Some Fox analysts and contributors gave the opportunity to contribute their perspective and spin to the show through the rotating host format.

The rotating format was actually something I enjoyed. There are so many people with the same opinions and faces. Some faces you like, others can’t be gone soon enough (looking at you, Geraldo). While you may get snippets of a contributor or co-hosts’ analysis on whatever show they may appear on that day, the hour-long format gave a fuller picture of their take on news and events, as well as an opportunity for them to draw in different voices that supported their perspective, and to offer more riveting back-and-forth with their chosen contributors.

This rotating format was not without its hits. Rachel Campos Duffy’s sweet voice was a little too light for the hour. Lawrence Jones was, however, more than prepared for the task. Primetime, with not only fresh perspective, but fresh commentators who helped to expand the focus and add weight to Jones’ analysis and commentary.

A Fox longtime contributor Tammy Bruce has been a consistent standout in all time slots. She used to be a California native daughter, and I’m old enough to remember listening to her insights on local KABC Radio back in the day. Bruce has been a well-known commodity over the years, and she’s cultivated a loyal following. However, her commentary and analysis are rarely one-note. Bruce is always ahead of the curve, keeps her thoughts fresh and never loses sight of what’s important.

Both Tammy Bruce and Lawrence Jones have Fox NationShows that let them be harder-hitting, out-of-the box, with their new perspectives and willingness for others to speak. They are the refreshing air cable news needs, especially Fox News. They both should be able to find a spot in primetime at one point.

But for now, it’s Watters World! Following the Fox News Primetimeformat proved to be a success and was well-received by the audience. Fox News decided to hire Jesse Watters as the host.

Jesse Watters has been named host of FOX News Channel’s (FNC) 7 PM/ET hour, announced Suzanne Scott, CEO of FOX News Media. This one-hour show, called Jesse Watters PrimetimeOn January 24, a new website, ” will be launchedTh. He will be a guest host of FiveThe show is one of the most viewed in cable news, and he will give up his weekend program Watters’ World. At a later time, a Saturday night 8PM/ET program will be made public.

In making the announcement, Ms. Scott said, “Jesse’s versatility and hosting acumen has grown exponentially over the last five years, and he has developed a deep connection to the audience through two hit shows Five And Watters’ World. We look forward to watching him expand his connection even further through this new solo weeknight hour.”

Mr. Watters added, “I’m thrilled to take on this new challenge and am grateful for the opportunity.”

Watters is not my first choice. However, I would have chosen him. Watters first started as a production assistant in 2002. He became a roaming correspondent a year later. The O’Reilly Factor, with his Watters’ World segment. After fourteen years of working on the show, he decided to turn it into a weekend series. He also hosted the popular ratings-grabbing Weekend Show in 2017. Five.

He also spent his weekends with FiveWatters was the substitute host. Tucker Carlson TonightAnd HannityHe continues to improve his host skills and expand his audience.

Watters has been a great host. Even though I think other hosts are more entertaining, I see why Fox News decided to make Watters the host. He is a well-known opinion-based host that Fox News excels at: Right-wing red meat, drumbeat messaging and right-wing red meat. Many Trump supporters lost significant market share to Fox News after the 2020 Elections. Watters has been consistent in his defense of Trump and commitment to the America First agenda, so it’s a cementing of this segment of the base that still bothers to watch, and the potential to draw back in the portion of that segment that disappeared to other outlets.

With the upcoming midterms and the potential for another Trump presidential run, we’ll see how well that works out for them.
