Ketanji Brown Jackson Excites a Lot of Comment When She’s Asked to Define ‘Woman’ – Opinion

Ketanji brown Jackson was in trouble after Sen. Ted Cruz (R. Texas) raised concerns about her testimony on Critical Race Theory. Senator Josh Hawley (R.MO) asked about child porno offenders’ lax sentences. The White House responded by rushing to her defense, attacking him.

Jackson refused to answer Tuesday’s simple question. Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) was asking questions about gender issues and asked Jackson if she could define the word “woman.”

Blackburn then turned to quote the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who wrote the majority opinion in U.S. v. Virginia (1996), in which the Court struck down Virginia Military Institute’s male-only admissions policy.

“Supposed inherent differences are no longer accepted as a ground for race or national origin classifications,” Blackburn said, quoting Ginsburg. “Physical differences, between men and women, however, are enduring. These two sexes cannot be merged. A community made up exclusively of one sex is different from a community composed of both.”

“Do you agree with Justice Ginsburg that there are physical differences between men and women that are enduring?” the senator asked.

“Um, senator, respectfully I am not familiar with that particular quote or case, so it’s hard for me to comment,” the judge responded.

“Do you interpret Justice Ginsburg’s meaning of men and women as male and female?” Blackburn pressed. Jackson didn’t comment.

“Can you provide a definition for the word ‘woman?’” the senator asked.

“Can I provide a definition? No,” Jackson responded. “I can’t.”

“You can’t?” Blackburn asked.

“Not in this context, I’m not a biologist,” the judge replied.

Well, that’s a problem. What is the point of being a biologist in order to understand what a woman looks like?

You have somebody who Democrats claim is a groundbreaking woman. But she doesn’t define what a women even means. How did Biden know to pick her as a woman — what did he base that decision on? How does she stand up for women’s rights if she can’t even define what a woman is?

Republicans are now trying to find out just how left she really is. Her refusal to answer the question speaks volumes about her leftist ideologies. We must also note that although she appeared to want to conform to the leftist ideology on gender, her mistake might still trigger them. Isn’t gender a social construct or how you choose to identify? Did she admit that it was biology?
