“She’s living the life they claim to want.”
Kellyanne Conway, Counselor to President Donald Trump, told a Washington Post interviewer in a piece published Wednesday, that she was living the ideal feminist lifestyle.
In the story, which is framed around Conway’s complicated relationship with her Trump-bashing husband George, reporter Ben Terris of The Post reveals that Conway sees herself as model feminist.
“The funny thing, she says, is she’s living the life they claim to want,” he wrote.
In response, feminists took to Twitter to argue that Conway doesn’t represent feminist values. Activist Marisa Kabas claimed Conway is a “mouthpiece for a fascist.”

Another commentator argued that Conway wouldn’t be in her position without help from the feminist movement.
Every time Kellyanne Conway makes a claim/quip like this, I wish the author would emphasize that the life she’s living is possible because of a century of feminist agitation and advances pic.twitter.com/VRmcVuATwg

Conway has in the past been tasked with publicly defending the president against sexual harassment accusations, which he denies, from several women.
Trump has said in the past that he doesn’t consider himself a feminist because he’s “for everyone.”
“I’m for women. I’m for men. I’m for everyone. I think people have to go out … and they have to win,” he told Piers Morgan earlier this year.
