“I can’t believe I dated Michael Avenatti.”
“Real Housewives of Orange County” star Kelly Dodd made Stormy Daniels attorney and President Donald Trump-critic Michael Avenatti’s already bad day just a little bit worse.

In a tweet shared Monday, the 43-year-old Arizona native slammed the embattled lawyer by saying that she “dodged a bullet” when she split from him.

“I can’t believe I dated Michael Avenatti .. I dodged a bullet on that one,” she wrote in a tweet.
According to Page Six, Dodd and Avenatti dated after she separated from her now ex-husband in 2017. A source told Page Six that Dodd dumped Trump’s nemesis after only a few months because he lied to her.

Avenatti is being charged with wire and bank fraud for allegedly attempting to extort $20 million from Nike, CNBC reported Monday.
Federal prosecutors allege Avenatti threatened to expose damaging information about Nike unless the retail giant agreed to pay him and his client millions.

In a tweet shared shortly before his arrest, Avenatti announced a “press conference to disclose a major high school/college basketball scandal perpetrated by Nike.”
Tmrw at 11 am ET, we will be holding a press conference to disclose a major high school/college basketball scandal perpetrated by @Nike that we have uncovered. This criminal conduct reaches the highest levels of Nike and involves some of the biggest names in college basketball.

CNN later revealed that Avenatti’s alleged co-conspirator is none other than attorney Mark Geragos, a legal analyst who has appeared frequently on the network.
CNN reportedly fired Geragos in the wake of the news. The network has apparently scrubbed its website of any mentions to Geragos – a link to Geragos’ profile on CNN’s site redirects to a general page that does not include the lawyer, who has represented high-profile clients Jussie Smollett and Colin Kaepernick.
New York Magazine journalist Yashar Ali noted in a Monday tweet that for months “Avenatti has been predicting (with great confidence) that Donald Trump Jr. was going to be indicted.
“Now he’s the one who is facing charges,” Ali added.
