Katie Couric Deliberately Deleted Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s Own Words Regarding NFL Anthem Protesters – RedState

Liberals adore Ruth Bader Ginsburg because she is one of them. Unafraid and outspoken she epitomized what the left holds most dear. Thus, it comes as something of an inexcusable surprise that Katie Couric felt compelled to “protect” Ginsburg by omitting her comments in a 2016 interview regarding Colin Kaepernick and other NFL players protesting during the National Anthem by taking a knee.

Couric admitted to the incident in her memoirs. You can read the entire article at Daily MailYou can find this link:

Couric writes that she edited out a part where Ginsburg said that those who kneel during the national anthem are showing ‘contempt for a government that has made it possible for their parents and grandparents to live a decent life.’

Couric went on to detail she believed that considering Ginsburg’s advanced age at the time of the interview (83), perhaps she misunderstood the question. It seems strange, given Ginsburg being hailed as one of the best tools in the shed up to her death in September 2020.

It Daily MailArticle adds

According to Couric, she ‘wanted to protect’ Ginsburg and felt that the issue of racial justice was a ‘blind spot’ for her.

This seems a bit strange. Ginsburg was declared the symbol of racial equality by the left. Yet she didn’t understand the question? Her blind spot was racism. Liberals, you can make up your minds. But then again, these are the exact same people that believe Donald Trump (and most conservatives) to simultaneously be both the dumbest human being alive and the worst, most conniving criminal mastermind of all time.

Couric’s action has not gone unnoticed by even the left. Maggie Haberman, of The New York Times, which is not known for being a bastion conservative thought, made comments on the matter Twitter that “(t)his is toxic on a lot of levels.” Conservatives have rightly taken Couric to task, none more so than Janice Dean, who a few days ago wrote on Twitter regarding another incident, “I take it back. ⁦But I wasn’t going to deny her the chance. @katiecouricA mean girl. While we often talk about the men who are terrible in this field, it is important to highlight those females as well. These women should be ashamed. No one should buy her book.” My guess is no one except those looking to see if Couric slagged on them will be picking up a copy.

In a nutshell this is journalism as it exists today in America. The pushing of the Agenda Above All would be laughable if its effects were not so pervasive and corruptive of society’s perception of the world. Whatever means are necessary, they will be employed. Even to the extent of trying to censor revered icons. That is our opposition. There is no way to walk away from the problem. Instead, we must continue complaining about MSM and watch as it goes along unencumbered. You can and should fight back. Tell the truth directly to your circle, as well as those who are not in your comfort zone. This will help you plant the seeds for organically spreading the word. We all know the truth and have an obligation towards each other as well as those around us who want to help spread it.

The truism of defeating your enemy is the best advice. Katie Couric has provided us with a glorious opportunity to point out the media’s hypocrisy and pathological inability to simply report facts. Let’s grab it.
