The View’s Joy Behar was upset at Fox News today, for calling out President Biden’s mask hypocrisy.
Tuesday’s show opened by playing a clip of Press Secretary Jen Psaki excusing the president walking around a Georgetown restaurant, maskless over the weekend, to Fox News’ Peter Doocy. Back in studio, Whoopi Goldberg conveniently only gave two options as responses to Biden violating the liberal city’s indoor mask mandate. She asked if Psaki’s explanation that Biden was on the way out of the restaurant was “enough” or was the White House causing damage about the safety of masks with the bad “optics”?
But Joy Behar was offended by Fox instead. She erupted at their White House correspondent for daring to question the president’s hypocrisy, calling it “right wing BS.”
Because some hosts like Tucker Carlson have rallied against mask and vaccine mandates, Behar baselessly claimed that everyone at Fox was telling people not to wear masks or get vaccinated:
I love this right wing B.S. that goes on on Fox News. All they do is tell you don’t wear a mask, don’t get vaccinated and now, they say, oh my goodness. Joe Biden was in the—he’s triple vaxxed already, and he was just eating and he was going to put it on in two seconds and all of a sudden the mask police come out of the woodwork at Fox.
Sunny Hostin pushed back though, even bringing up Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot for being photographed at a WNBA game maskless, despite firing police officers who would not get vaccinated. “I think optics do matter,” she said, regretting that this was just giving the right “opportunity” to criticize. “She’s asking everybody to get vaccinated, but here she is sort of flouting her own, you know, city’s guidelines,” Hostin added.
But guest host, reality TV star Eboni K. Williams said conservatives were just “trolling” and didn’t deserve a response. She further defended Biden and Lightfoot: “[W]e don’t know. Same with, you know, the president. He had the mask in his hand. Well, you’ve got to imagine it was going on his face within seconds,” she offered.
Whoopi Goldberg also jumped in to defend Biden. She boldly asserted without any evidence that “Everybody in that room has been vaccinated and he’s on his way out, supposedly, out the door.” Does she think Secret Service went table to table asking for vaccine cards? While the ritzy restaurant follows the city’s mask policy, there is nothing on their website about requiring proof of vaccine status to dine.
Yet Whoopi doubled down on her claim:
I know that if he’s in that room, they have checked and quadruple checked the people who are cooking, the food that was cooked has been vaccinated. Everything in that room has been vaccinated. So, you know, it’s not — to me, it’s not as egregious because, you know, they probably sat and had the meal without the thing.
As usual, The View’s missing the point. Democrat politicians make rules that they alone are allowed to violate without consequence.
Behar griped again at Fox News and her imaginary claims about the network she detests:
But on their side, on Peter Doocy’s side, they’re running around without masks and telling you not to get vaccinated and all of a sudden, Joe Biden has got to be the adult in the room. Democrats are always in adults in the room. Republicans are the children.
While she blames Republicans for the COVID-19 pandemic, Behar won’t acknowledge how ineffective Democrats’ coronavirus policies are, or when Democrats violate their own mandates.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Was that explanation enough, or will the optics of seeing them with their masks in their hands as they’re leaving knowing there’s press outside, is that going to continue to freak people out about the safety message?
JOY BEHAR: I love this right wing B.S. that goes on on Fox News. This kid Peter, or whatever his name–
GOLDBERG: I know there’s a lot of folks in — in the buildings that are not wearing masks. Maybe they should police that also.
BEHAR: In the Fox News building? Where?
GOLDBERG: No, in Washington, D.C. A lot of Republicans are not wearing masks.
BEHAR: But the hypocrisy is —
GOLDBERG: That’s my point.
SUNNY HOSTIN: don’t know. I’ve got to tell you, why give them the opportunity to be – hypocrites though?
BEHAR: Yeah but he’s triple vaxxed.
HOSTIN: I think optics do matter. We’re having a problem with messaging in this country, and we’re giving them these opportunities over and over and over again. I was looking at a picture of mayor Lightfoot, you know, who attended a wnba game. You’ve got all these people wearing a mask around her except for the mayor, and she is at this very moment in this standoff with I believe, as she’s the mayor of Chicago, with the Chicago police over a vaccine mandate. She’s asking everybody to get vaccinated, but here she is sort of flouting her own, you know, city’s guidelines.
…
WHOOPI GOLDBERG: You know he’s not in a room that hasn’t been double checked for vaccinations.
Right.
GOLDBERG: Everybody in that room has been vaccinated and he’s on his way out, supposedly, out the door. I know that when I get to the door, I put the mask on, but you’re also being — someone’s got a camera and they’re waiting for, you know, so sometimes you miss it, but, you know, I know that if he’s in that room, they have checked and quadruple checked the people who are cooking, the food that was cooked has been vaccinated. Everything in that room has been vaccinated. [ Applause ] So, you know, it’s not — to me, it’s not as egregious because, you know, they probably sat and had the meal without the thing.
BEHAR: But on their side, on Peter Doocy’s side, they’re running around without masks and telling you not to get vaccinated and all of a sudden, Joe Biden has got to be the adult in the room. Democrats are always in adults in the room. Republicans are the children.
