Joe Rogan Apologizes After Probable Reason for Deleted Episodes Emerges – Opinion

Joe Rogan’s last few weeks have been difficult. After being accused of spreading COVID-19 “misinformation” on his top-rated podcast, a litany of artists began threatening to remove their music for Spotify, which owns the rights to the “Joe Rogan Experience.” In an attempt to quell the manufactured outrage, Spotify then put a “content advisory” on some episodes.

Rogan finally responded to the criticisms by trying to offer an olive branch to his critics, suggesting that he would try to include more perspectives in his shows. This was unfortunately a foolish move. You give the leftwing mob an inch and they will only get even more aggressive.

Sure enough, that’s what has happened. On Friday evening, RedState reported that dozens of episodes of Rogan’s show had been deleted without an explanation. The probable cause is now known. Rogan is sharing a clipped viral video that uses the n-word in an out-of-context context, which he posted on his older podcast episodes. This was done within the context of other discussions.

Rogan swiftly issued an apology.

Joe Rogan replied to a request for comment clip of him using the N-word almost two dozen times while hosting his wildly popular podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience.”

Calling the clip “the most regretful and shameful thing I’ve ever had to talk about publicly,” Rogan, 54, insisted the video consisted of “out of context” snippets from “12 years of conversations” on his show.

“It looks f–king horrible. Even to me.”

He continued, “I know that to most people, there is no context where a white person is ever allowed to say that word, nevermind [sic]Publicly speaking on a podcast. I haven’t said it in years.”

The man admits that he has used the term in the past but says it wouldn’t be outside the conversation.

The cancel culture mob is doing this. Rogan’s past usage of the n-word, whether you agree with him saying the word or not, was not in an insulting or racist fashion. It was used in context of discussing race topics on Rogan’s show. Yet, despite Rogan’s prior clarification over his supposed COVID-19 “misinformation,” the mob didn’t stop until they could tarnish him as a racist.

At this point, that’s on Rogan. He has been around the block long enough to know that he wouldn’t be treated differently. Yes, he’s a Bernie Sanders supporter, but the moment you make nice with the right, as Rogan has in some of his interviews, you become an enemy of the left, and they will do anything to destroy you. The initial apology was unwise. Even more, this latest apology is sincere. The mob is not going to stop until they have his scalp, and he’s given them the tools to get it.

Rogan seems like a nice enough guy, but he clearly doesn’t understand what’s going on here. None of his detractors are acting in good faith, and he’s making a mistake thinking he can appease them. They see him as a threat to their political system and they are not legitimately concerned about his safety. It’s that simple, and he doesn’t cease to be a political threat to them just because he put out an Instagram apology.

As I’ve said before, I’m not anti-apology. I actually think it’s imperative to man up and apologize when it is warranted. It is not appropriate to apologize to bad-faith mobs that are taking things outof context. Rogan is now just too sorry to add to the pain. That’s a decision he will soon come to regret.
