Jill Biden was really a fool when she made the comparison between Latinos using tacos. As RedState previously reported, Biden messed up not once, but twice in the same sentence, first by saying the Latin community is “as distinct as the bogidas (sic) of the Bronx, as beautiful as the blossoms of Miami, and as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio.”
What happens to a Latinx who goes to bogidas? because Hispanics go to bodegas https://t.co/fJsS8sF7Hl

Well, now she says she’s sorry for that comment…or at least that’s what her press secretary says she says.
Micahel LaRosa sent out a tweet on Tuesday morning saying that Biden apologizes if “her words conveyed anything but pure admiration and love for the Latino community.”
We are sorry that the First Lady’s words did not convey love and admiration for the Latino community.

There are some oddities. For one, it lacks the “x” the left loves to attach to the Latino community in order to make the term more “inclusive.” It’s a term the majority of the Latino community expressly rejects, so I can’t help but wonder if the lack of the “x” this time is the left’s way of doing a small bit of damage control.
Secondly, why didn’t the First Lady say this herself?
This was an apology she could have sent to a reporter nearby, but she instead relegates it to a tweet from one of her subordinates. That doesn’t actually convey regret, it conveys annoyance or cowardice. Either way, it’s not much of an apology.
This is a perfect opportunity to play the “what if it was a Republican” game. You can bet that if someone from the Democrat Party said something similar, it would have been a clear sign of racism to them. If a Republican had compared the Latino community to tacos you can bet they’d be blasting the term “racism and xenophobia” out of every working speaker.
Was Jill Biden’s comment racism? No. It was just a clumsily delivered line that proves she’s out of touch with the peasantry. The real insult comes from not having delivered the apology herself, something that has nothing to do with racism and everything to do with the proof that she doesn’t actually care that much about respecting the people she claims to have so much love for.
