This Saturday is college football season. All but a few states, the stadiums are filled. There are tailgates taking place, students sections full and everyone is enjoying what they love.
However, Dr. Anthony Fauci said that such scenes could spell doom. Warnings of “super spreader” events filled the airwaves, driven by the government bureaucrat, prior to the season starting.
Here’s Fauci talking to MSNBC’s Joy Reid (because who else?), agreeing that COVID was going to “feast” on the large crowds at college football stadiums. Transcript via RealClearPolitics
“As soon as I saw that, I thought, ‘Covid is about to have a feast,’” Reid said. “What did you think?
“The same thing. People would like to say we’re done with Covid, but Covid is not done with us. And that’s really the problem, that you can’t wish it away when you have the numbers of infections that you just mentioned a moment ago,” Fauci said.
“I would hope that most of the people in that stadium were vaccinated,” he warned.
Fauci concluded: “You would imagine that when you were in a sports arena where everyone is screaming and yelling, that if, in fact, anybody, and I would be very surprised if that were not the case, if anyone in that crowd is infected, they’re spreading the virus around.”
We are now in mid-October, and the results have been released. You are going to be completely shocked to learn that Fauci’s hysteria did not pan out and that the good doctor was wrong…again.
The Today Show ran a story that proved Dr. Fauci wrong about college football being superspreaders. The Today Show does this story fast and you can see the change in the narrative. https://t.co/st5lXwlFa7

Brewster states that every college football state in the south has reported an increase in case numbers since the beginning of the football season. Florida is one of those states, with 64% less hospitalizations since the beginning of the season, even though it regularly sees 90,000. plus fans at The Swamp every home match.
Fauci’s biggest problem is this, along with many other flaws. He just…says things.
These things often get colored by politics. So when there were George Floyd protests by leftwing activists throughout the country last year, when we didn’t even have a vaccine yet, Fauci was silent. Fauci never spoke out on MSNBC or CNN about the dangers posed by these people. Fauci is bold in his proclamations about doom for groups that are right-leaning.
Fauci’s proclamations are rarely realized because he just says the things. He almost never has hard numbers to back up what he’s saying when he appears on TV. He is a shooter who follows his gut and tends to favor leftist narratives.
Fauci was clearly going to miss the mark in this instance. It is rare for outdoor transmission to occur, with almost all college stadiums being outdoors. (Syracuse is an exception). SEC country is where you will find the best venues.
Fauci didn’t care, though, when he mouthed off back in September. Joy Reid was the one he was actually talking to. He wasn’t there to inform, he was there for performance. So, we can go ahead and add this to the list of things he’s gotten wrong over the last two years, and boy, is it a long list.
