Biden and Vaccine Mandates Are Threatening the Security of the Nation – RedState

We’ve seen the rampant disruption being caused by vaccine mandates such as those being pushed by Joe Biden.

But, it isn’t only disruption that’s being risked here. It’s the very security of the nation: from the safety of our streets to the safety and defense of the country as a whole.

Mandates are threatening the careers of those who serve vital functions in protecting Americans.

Imagine the insanity of what they’re doing right now in Chicago. The deadline was yesterday for all police, fire, and other city workers to “report their vaccination status.” The police union is fighting the mandate, and officials were concerned that as many as 50% might not comply with the mayor’s order and have to be sent home.

The city might declare a state-of-emergency and send in National Guard personnel. Some were just speculating. Because of their own obsession with the virus and control, they are doing it to themselves. The only thing that’s saving their attempt to commit a ritual suicide of the city is their own incompetence — that it may take a little while, into next week, to tell who is resisting and who isn’t. If there’s one city that needs police, it’s Chicago.

There’s also Seattle, whose union is also standing firm, and the city is threatening mass firings come Monday. Already stretched, the city has a major leftist protest problem. However, the city has plans to fire 403 police officers and as many as 40% of their entire force for failing to get the jab, or refusing evidence.

“The environment has been pretty toxic and negative,” an unnamed officer told Fox 13 News. “Not just from this whole mandate, but prior to that as well. I’m not sure this would be a good place for me to work long-term for my mental health. It has been very stressful.”

According to the station, 292 officers still hadn’t submitted proof of COVID vaccine as of October 6. A spokesperson from Seattle PD said that 111 officers were still waiting for the outcome of exemption requests. Randy Huserik.

The Seattle Police Department has already lost more than 300 officers since Black Lives Matters riots and the “defund the police” movement roiled the city in 2020, putting officers in the crosshairs of political and public ire.

These two examples are very prominent. However, this trend is occurring in a larger or less widespread manner across the country. This includes police departments and first responders. Politicians are pushing for such mandates.

That’s not all. While I am skeptical about the effectiveness of the TSA’s actions, they are supposed to be protecting our safety on and at the airports. 40% do not have their vaccines, and the deadline is fast approaching. If they don’t comply with it, then they may face disciplinary actions that could lead to their termination. According to the Office of Personnel Management, this deadline may be met by November 9. If a significant segment is cut or terminated, this could pose safety concerns for our flights.

The Biden folks like to talk about the “science.” But it’s also affecting those responsible for some very important national defense work.

Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico has dozens of scientists who aren’t happy with the mandate. The mandate is being opposed by 114 scientists and nuclear engineers as well as designers, researchers, managers and project managers.

They are experts and hold high security clearances for their work, which includes national defense and infrastructure improvement and COVID-19 research.

According to the workers, this mandate was a violation their constitutional rights. Lab management also created hostile work environments.

Their attorney has a great argument — that if you look at the science with 96% of the workers vaccinated, why are you concerned with the small amount who aren’t?

Given the high proportion of workers who have been vaccinated, critics argued that forcing those still unvaccinated would not make any epidemiological differences.

Jonathan Diener (an attorney representing workers) said the plaintiffs will be appealing. Arbitration may also be possible while the case is being heard in court. Workers have asked for a jury trial.

“The main thing is we wanted to stop people from being thrown out of work,” said Diener, expressing disappointment with the judge’s decision.

Perhaps one of the most problematic areas for the mandate to hit is on our military, which has already been hit on a variety of levels with efforts from the left to “fundamentally transform” its nature.

Joe Biden is requiring everyone to be vaccinated and that’s hitting the military hard, in particular the U.S. Navy SEALS, some of the top operators necessary for the protection of our nation. Highly trained over years, they are invaluable and obviously, it’s hard to replace such training and investment. Fox reports that the Military under Biden appears to go out of their way to harass and threaten those SEALS seeking religious exemptions to this mandate.

Fox first states that the process of religious exemption is almost impossible to complete.

Then, the Navy is promising severe punishment “including demotions, pay cuts and a ban on travel for SEALs, and other Navy service members, who do not comply with the vaccine mandate.” Part of the “punishment” may be to require the SEAL to pay back government the for what it spent on training them, a horrifically burdensome thing for exercising their rights.

A new directive by the Navy’s COVID Consolidated Disposition Authority (CCDA) issued Thursday states that if SEALs decline the vaccine, the Navy may seek to recover from each individual SEAL the money the government has spent on training them. Training costs for an individual SEAL is expected to run into the millions.

“The CCDA may seek recoupment of applicable bonuses, special and incentive pays, and the cost of training and education for service members refusing the vaccine,” reads the document. [….]

Another internal document reviewed by Fox News states that SEALs, as special operations (SO) duty personnel, who refuse to get vaccinated based only on religious or personal beliefs, will be “disqualified” from SO duty. That would mean a SEAL seeking a religious objection would lose his or her “special warfare” pay due to SO status. This does not apply to SEALs with medical objections.

A SEAL even faced threats of losing his Special Warfare Pin, which may lead to him being fired as SEAL.

Michael Berry, First Liberty Institute’s general counsel and Lt. Col. U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, who represents some of the SEALS, says this is a violation of their First Amendment rights.

“Purging our military of its elite servicemembers is detrimental to national security. It is against the Constitution to do so simply because the Commander-in-Chief refuses to accept their religious beliefs. Their years of experience and leadership in service to our nation is immeasurable and irreplaceable,” Berry told Fox News.

Berry continued, “Remove a SEAL from special warfare, reduce his salary, and force him to repay his training is purely vindictive and punitive. And it’s illegal. They have nothing to do with a virus.” Berry’s clients have a combined more than 350 years of military service and more than 100 combat deployments.

Berry said the SEALS have invested their lives into protecting the country, “Yet the Commander in Chief would simply kick them out of the Navy, send them to jail, and force them to repay the nation for their training—all for simply declining a vaccine.”

November 14th is the last day for active duty personnel.

These people are hard to replace and they have been trained for years. Who are they going to be replacing them with? They would be a significant threat to our national security and force readiness long-term, in addition to the chaos that it could cause. How our enemies must be staring at this madness, wondering if we’re crazy, and salivating. This is beyond dangerous to do to ourselves — and one has to wonder if Biden deliberately wants to do in the country, when he does things like this.
