Politifact uses facts to make a comeback from their desperate attempts to please the government..
The point is now undisputed. It has been obvious for some time that the media complex of this country is biased towards a specific political agenda. However, even with the very low standards set forth by the news industry they continue to delve deeper into the bias swamp. Politifact reporters, who are known for their high standards of accuracy, targeted Townhall.com as a partner site. Their pathetic displays speak to many of the issues in the media.
It was some grand amusement when this past Sunday the Washington Post’s Dana Milbank The column, which defies facts, was releasedAccording to him, Joe Biden has received a tougher treatment from the press than Donald Trump. It was amazing that anyone could take such a serious matter seriously. However, his column of laughter was instantly mocked and continued for 24 hours.
This was because, on Monday, a report came out that the White House was gathering important newsmakers together to formulate a better way of reporting on Joe Biden’s economy. This is a remarkable feat. Neither were there any questions nor was anyone ashamed of their willful PR actions. Behold, as CNN’s Oliver Darcy does not even think to question this move and instead speaks glowingly about how well the conference went.

It is in this exact fashion that the allegedly neutral/unbiased/objective truth-savants at Politifact leaped into action on Joe Biden’s defense in reference to our partner site Townhall.com. A clip of Joe Biden’s speech was what got them steamy and lathered. This is all. A video was posted on the Twitter stream of the TH showing Joe Biden speaking in Missouri.
BIDEN: We are making great progress. “We’ll continue to work to make sure that Americans pay gas taxes.” pic.twitter.com/f41bFtbeEP

It is important to note that there are no comments or interpretations at the beginning. Joe speaks directly, with the video of him saying those words. The White House PR department reacted to this incident. Mike Gwin, the White House Rapid Respond Director, blasted Townhall’s tweet. Gwin said that five words in Townhall’s video were missing and suggested deception.
Lazy, deceptive, editing by @townhallcomTo omit the fact that President Obama was noting declining gas prices and instead said:
“We’re making progress, we’re going to keep at it to ensure American people are paying their fair share for gas **not being gouged for gas**” https://t.co/MEHxU2ecmW pic.twitter.com/pYQYX9vj1v

Politifact, acting on behalf of government, took over the cause. Townhall.com received a tweet from Politifact and asked for a comment. Spencer Brown This exchange was mentioned by the authorPolitifact admitted that their inquiry came from the White House. Cute. The following is either comedy of poor reporting or an example of government media simping.
Both are possible. It’s a hilarious display.
The resulting report on the subject was published byPolitifact must resort to some well-known ploys that fact-checkers can use to reach a conclusion which alters perceptions of facts. One of these is the application of supposed ‘context’, something they pathetically use immediately, as that appears right there in the headline. You already sense the deceitful rabbit hole of interpretation that we are heading down. This fragmented sentence begins paragraph two of their deception.
The shortened clip they’re circulating make [sic]Biden seems to have said that Americans should not pay the higher prices for gas in recent months. Or, they should pay less.
For Politifact writer and White House minion Bill McCarthy to “correct” Townhall, he has to first import suggestions that were never made, in practiced strawman fashion. Look at this Townhall tweet. There is nothing but Joe Biden’s direct words. McCarthy is the one doing the interpreting, with “Make it appear” used for him to take corrective action.
Next, McCarthy directly echoes the effort of Mike Gwin, saying that the phrase, “not being gouged for gas” needs to be added to properly alter the message.
The full video of Biden’s speech shows him saying something different — that he wants to make sure that Americans are “not being gouged for gas.”
This does not prove that he said anything else. Politifact later claimed that the omission gave Biden an impression suggesting people should pay this price. Bill, I’ll walk you through the process. Joe Biden was the person who used the words “Their fair share”, the very phrase that his party has used for generations in regards to taxes and other confiscatory payouts by the citizens to his party. If that is not clear, then you can speak with Mike Gwin (President Malaprop) to clarify.
Here is what is so revealing about this Politifact sycophantic report; McCarthy’s piece rambles further on about the video clip, but never are actual facts addressed in this fact-check. McCarthy is harping about the syntax error that changed meaning throughout this entire article. Bill, how about actual gas prices? Biden deserves to be praised for dropping the gas price by $0.07 during his speech. But, there’s no mention of that. The per-gallon costIt is still being parked at unobserved levels Since Joe was Vice President — well over a dollar higher than one year ago. Perhaps ThisPerhaps a better context is needed to inform readers?
But then let’s peer over that five-word phrase that is supposedly so important. What is the purpose of price gouging at pumps? Who is it being carried out for and why is this happening? This seems like a detail that can be verified with facts. In crisis situations, gouging can occur. Gouging is an illegal practice in economics and should be punished. It is not permitted This isn’t an isolated incident.
These spikes aren’t caused by targeted companies or in specific areas, such as when there is a natural catastrophe. This is an industry-wide, cross-country rise due to market forces. It reflects the steep rise in prices in all industries. The level of inflation is high In 40 years, this has not been seen. The Consumer Price Index hasn’t risen like this since 1982. Presuming that gas prices will rise is happening in an economic vacuum is a result of There are some people who do not want the best for the oil industryJoe Biden, and his Administration aides, are completely deluded.
You can easily address it with data. Politifact’s disinterest in fact-checking Joe Biden, and his comments is astounding. Instead, we are supposed to heap praise for his pennies-on-the-dollars dip in prices, and we are to shake a fist at the nefarious oil barons who make Joe look bad by ramping up the cost of gasoline at the pump.
Good job, Bill McCarthy and Politifact – I’m sure Mike Gwin will see fit your outfit is included on the White House Christmas Cards List. This year, all compliant media outlets must be acknowledged for their Yuletide gratitude.
