Joe Walsh is an Illinois politician who has been washed up and is also a chameleon. From being a moderate Republican, to being an ardent Trump fan and hardcore Tea Partyr, Walsh has become so anti-Trumpist that he voted for Joe Biden in 2020. As our Tim Graham noted, Walsh also stated that he’d vote for “socialists” instead of Trump.
Walsh served only one term as a member of Congress. His 2020 campaign for the GOP nomination was not as successful as Kamala Harris’ shaky effort on the Dem side.
CNN invites this unrepentant non-entity to its programs every week. He can always be relied upon to trash Republicans. Today’s Morning Report Day of the New, co-host Brianna Keilar interviewed Walsh regarding a controversial TV ad from Eric Greitens, who is seeking the Republican nomination for US senator from Missouri.
A Greitens armed with guns announces that he is “RINO hunting” and invites voters to “join our MAGA crew.” Get a RINO hunting permit. You don’t have to bag or tag your country, it never expires, and you can’t use it until you save it.
This is a terrible result after years of political violence. However, Walsh used Greitens’ misdeeds to denigrate Republicans in general.Walsh denied that the commercial would cause Greitens to lose support from Republican primary voters. On the contrary, Walsh claimed it would benefit him. Why? Because:
“Most Republican voters . . . Their political adversaries to be killed or exterminated.”
Walsh was encouraged by Keilar to continue, lamenting the changes in GOP since 2012 when it elected Todd Akin as its Republican Missouri senatorial candidate. persona non grataFor his abortifacient gaffe, he said that women could not get pregnant during a “legitimate sexual assault.” And Keilar made Walsh claim that the GOP is “radicalized”, putting politicians and officials at “risk.” Walsh concluded “we’ve got to stop being outraged by what my former political party does. These are the people they are. It is up to us to take it on and win it.
Notice: The chyron is there presumably for him to gain some credibility.CNN continues to tout Walsh as “(R)” or “Former Presidential candidate.”Walsh left the Republican Party more than two decades ago. Someone who quit the Republican party after receiving about 300 votes in Iowa’s caucuses, and whose campaign lasted as long as a half-life of an ant, is rightly a PCINO.
On CNN’s New Day, ex-Republican turned Biden supporter Joe Walsh claiming that “most Republican voters want their political opponents destroyed or killed” was sponsored in part by Verizon, Neutrogena, GlaxoSmithKline, maker of Trelegy, and Comcast.

6:16 am EDTBRIANNA KEILAR: A new campaign ad released by former Missouri governor and current GOP U.S. Senate candidate Eric Greitens is drawing heavy criticism from across the political spectrum.
The video shows Greitens with a group armed in tactical gear bursting into a home. Greitens says, “The RINO feeds off corruption and is marked in the stripes of cowardice. Get a RINO hunting permit. There’s no bagging limit, no tagging limit. This doesn’t run out until our nation is saved.
RINO stands for Republican In Name Only. Facebook has removed the video because it violated its violence policy. Twitter flagged the video as abusive.
Joe Walsh, a former Republican Congressman from Illinois joins us to discuss the matter. What is the big question? Will this hurt him? Will this even hurt him?
JOE WALSH It will be a great help. BriannaJust like the one that was used to help the Republican candidate from Michigan get arrested for her participation in January 6th. America should accept that fact.Brianna has radicalized the entire base, including the voting base for one of our main political parties.
It’s a topic we often discuss and get angry about. That’s what I think most people don’t know. This is what it means most Republican votersThey don’t believe in the truth. They have given up hope on democracy. They desire a strongman to run the country. Und, Their political adversaries should be killed or exterminated. It’s not a fringe issue in the Republican party.
KEILAR – Remember that it was ten year ago!
WALSH: Ten Years Ago.
KEILAR. Todd Akin was disqualified for comments on rape, and abortion. That seems to be an entirely different time now.
WALSH It was a lifetime ago. Brianna. That was ten years ago. Some of the things I’ve said were quite crazy. Right now, I would be boring.
Todd Akin was removed from the party. Back then, Republicans were shunned for saying or doing things that were not acceptable. These days they are embraced. Brianna explains that this is the place where they have their largest voting base. This is the radicalized one of our major parties. You can be sure that Greitens in Missouri’s primary will get rewarded for their efforts.
KEILAR: Are political people at risk?
WALSH: Heck, yes.Think about that. This is what he’s trying to tell us. His political adversaries are his targets. Again, we should all be outraged by this. Brianna, this should make us all angry. These are their people. Accept it, and then defeat it.
