On Wednesday night, disgraced former NBC News host Brian Williams was again using his late night perch on MSNBC to display his partisan views as he promoted the anti-Republican Lincoln Project — itself also a disgraced group which Williams has been covering for on his show.
The former NBC Nightly NewsAnchor not only offered free time for another Lincoln Project advertisement at the conclusion of his ad 11th Hour show, but he also had on frequent guest and Lincoln Project advisor Stuart Stevens to trash the GOP, and even declared that his anti-Republican book is an “important” one.
After Williams introduced Stevens and former Obama administration advisor David Plouffe as guests, an image of Stevens’s book, It Was All a Lie: How the Republican Party Became Donald TrumpWilliams’s mother, Judith Williams, was on-screen when she said “it is important.” Williams notably always mentions the book when Stevens is on the show, but this time he made a point of endorsing it.
McConnell was mocked a moment later by McConnell. He commented: “I would like to show you some of the things Mitch McConnell said today.” He was up in his office — where he works only by gaslight — came down and said this to reporters.”
Following a video of McConnell accusing Democrats of the impasse regarding the budget, MSNBC’s host said: “Stuart! I am tempted ask: Does this mean he believes we are stupid?” I don’t know what is going on.
In the next segment, Williams — who has in the past already shown his bias against Senator Joe Manchin because of the moderate Democrat’s role in blocking some of the Democratic agenda — tacitly admitted that he has a predominantly liberal audience as he turned to Stevens and posed: “So, Stuart, just when no one would blame Joe Manchin for hiring a food taster, you are out with a theory that the Democrats could use more Joe Manchins, and I speak for our viewers when I ask you to explain your thoughts.”
The disgruntled ex-Republican admitted that his political views are to left of Senator Manchin, and snarked that West Virginia would likely elect a “wackadoo” Republican if Manchin were gone.
Later on — at the end of the show when Williams often has some sort of anti-conservative video to close with — the MSNBC host showed the latest ad from the Lincoln Project which oddly just consists of various clips of Republicans or Fox News personalities saying things that liberals would likely be offended by without narration.

BRIAN WILLIAMS: We are back, and for more on what we just heard from Stephanie Grisham, the twice impeached former President’s most elusive White House press secretary, we are joined by two friends of this broadcast — David Plouffe, former Obama campaign manager and senior advisor to the President; and Stuart Stevens, veteran of the Mitt Romney and George W. Bush presidential efforts, now with the Lincoln Project. It’s his latest book, and it is important. It Was All a Lie: How the Republican Party Became Donald Trump
(…)
Stuart, let me play for you some of the words that Mitch McConnell said today. He was up in his office — where he works only by gaslight — came down and said this to reporters.
MITCH McCONNELL,SENATE MINORITY EDUCATOR: Please ask them once more not to play Russian Roulette with America’s economy. When you didn’t have divided government before, we were on this same road and the major party won.
WILLIAMS – Stuart, I’m tempted to question him: Does he believe we’re stupid?” Is there something going on?
(…)
So, Stuart, just when no one would blame Joe Manchin for hiring a food taster, you are out with a theory that the Democrats could use more Joe Manchins, and I speak for our viewers when I ask you to explain your thoughts.
STEVENS – Well, it’s not Joe Manchin versus Dick Durbin. It’s between Joe Manchin and someone who will be a wild Republican who will make the other Senator from West Virginia seem like a Marxist. This is Donald Trump’s most desirable state.
And I think the key to remember here is Joe Manchin, you know my politics has changed — I’m probably to the left of Joe Manchin, you know — but he voted for impeachment twice. When you take a look at actual votes, it’s clear that Joe Manchin has supported the Biden agenda with 100 percent of votes. The Democratic party is, in my opinion, the only party capable of saving American democracy.
