Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is expected to make a “major announcement” Thursday morning not related to any campaign, DeSantis press secretary Christina Pushaw tweeted Wednesday night.
“MAJOR announcement Tomorrow morning @GovRonDeSantis. Be prepared for the worst year in media history,” Pushaw wrote. “Everyone get some rest tonight.”

Pushaw’s press secretary for the government, however, quickly explained that this had nothing to do about a possible 2024 White House bid.
“He already announced he’s running for re-election as governor,” Pushaw said in a follow-up tweet. “All I can say about the surprise announcement tomorrow is that it’s not about anything campaign related. It’s official business.”

It’s unclear what the announcement will be, but it seems like it’s going to be worth noting. One example: I speculated that the Choco Taco might be back in production.
People will give you what you want. Return the chocotaco

Importantly, DeSantis has been a leader in conservative governors’ bold actions. DeSantis didn’t win his first term easily, but that hasn’t stopped him.
As Mike Miller wrote last month, it’s still worth looking into a potential White House run for DeSantis. But it’s going to take some time if that does come to fruition.
