Liberals enjoy mocking people who respond to fatal shootings with “thoughts, prayers”, Liberals invariably resort to a completely useless response to these tragedies. They are focused on the guns and not those who use them.
The liberal media, just as politicians, also accepts this false focus. CNN Monday Morning aired an episode about the murder of two police officers this weekend. Focusing on the killing in NYC, CNN reporter Shimon Prokupecz repeatedly said that the officer’s death highlights The shooting highlighted the necessity for “change” and “is drawing attention towards the problem with illegal guns in the streets.”
CNN then aired a clip of NYC Mayor Eric Adams announcing that he is going to:
“Reinstatement of an updated version of the plainclothes and modified plainclothes as well as anti-gun units.”
Think about all that bureaucratic gobbledygook. There is nothing new. Nothing new. Just a dusted-off, repackaged, “newer, modified version” of a solution that didn’t work before and won’t work now. Prokupecz also reported that the number of officers in this unit will not be known. . . Or what they’ll actually do. This sounds like the formula to success.
CNN then aired the clip. New York Governor Hochul was the one to announce the inaugural meeting of an interstate task force on illegal guns.
Great! Because when you want to solve a tough problem, there’s nothing like another multi-governmental “task force!”
Instead of being focused on guns, New York City or the state could flood the streets with police officers and arrest those who are using them. Many people using guns are well-known to law enforcement. Do we dare say “stop and flee”?
Liberal politicians are afraid of solutions that might actually work. Fear of offending the base
CNN, which promoted “solutions” for liberal politicians to put more emphasis on guns than criminals using them, was sponsored in part by ADT/Subaru, NordicTrack, Liberty Mutual, and Liberty Mutual.
