Fox News reported on January 10th that Jesse Watters will be the permanent host at their 7pm hour for two weeks. CNN is the most disgusted network. Erin Burnett was thumped in this hour by Fox and a rotating cast substitutes for the last 12 months.
Brian Stelter tweeted “Jesse Watters is a logical choice for Fox’s 7pm time slot – Flame throwers are now a mainstay of the evening’s entertainment schedule – from Watters through to Greg Gutfeld.” Oliver Darcy joined in: “The installment of Watters, a right-wing flame-thrower, at 7pm – the time slot formerly occupied by Shep Smith and Martha MacCallum – cements Fox’s ‘less and less news, more and more right-wing rage’ approach.”
Permit me to repeat that Brian Stelter put an “expert” on his Trustworthy sources show who proclaimed Donald Trump would kill more people than Stalin, Hitler, and Mao combined. CNN has compared Trump to Hitler so often that it sounds like the Fake History Channel
Here was CNN’s Sunday night schedule the night before Stelter/Darcy’s flame-fest.
First, at 9 pm: Fareed Zakaria’s special report: Fighting To Save American Democracy
At 10:10 pm, then? CNN Special Report: “Trumping Democracy”: A Coup by the Americans
11.11: Another hourAttack on Democracy: What are the Roots of Trump’s Insurrection?
Somehow, it’s never “flame throwing” to assert that Trump’s echoing Hitler. Zakaria announced “Donald Trump is not Adolf Hitler. But Weimar’s death highlights a danger for all democracies, specifically the way conservative elites, determined to keep the Left out of power, align themselves with an anti-democratic demagogue. The story in Germany began with a big lie.”
Zakaria, along with his chosen voices, named Hitler 24 times. At one point, Zakaria proclaimed “within weeks, Adolf Hitler made himself a dictator. Soon, he began to kill off his rivals and enemies, as well many of his right-wing supporters. Democracy in Germany was dead.”
Is that right next to it? A soundbite of Trump: “They’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong.” This implies Trump endorsed killing off enemies and rivals. Zakaria added: “Its lessons for America are sobering.”
Then he aired Harvard professor Steven Levitsky smearing the conservative movement: “The willingness of mainstream conservatives to back into potentially authoritarian options, because of fear of their rivals, is something that I think we’re seeing playing out in the United States today.”
That’s some serious flame-throwing.
This is the new trend. This is a trend. State of Hate: White Supremacy Explosion. Explosion?
Zakaria hosted an episode of Sunday Night Special in 2016 that praised Barack Obama and roasted his opponents as racist fanatics. He preposterously concluded the show by claiming Obama’s administration “was largely scandal-free, and he did it all the while under a microscope, because he looked different.”
Benghazi, Fast and Furious, IRS abuse, Hillary’s email server? This has never occurred.
The silliness and dishonesty didn’t stop there. Van Jones underlined alleged Republican racism by claiming “I can’t name one thing that this Congress supported this president on in eight years. You have to have an extraordinary explanation for this level of obstruction.”
So taking down Osama bin Laden, the Republicans didn’t support that? In reality, Congress passed many laws signed by Obama under Republican control.
The CNN formula would allow you to exaggerate history, borrowing from Oliver Darcy. Less and less news = more left-wing rage.
