CNNer Demands Biden Suspend Immigrant Enforcement in TX After School Shooting

In the wake of the shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas on Tuesday, former Homeland Security official turned CNN analyst Juliette Kayyem appeared on Jake Tapper’s The LeadShe demanded President Biden stop all immigration enforcement in that area. She would go on to scoff at Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s desire to have armed protection in schools and suggest he meant to arm the kids.

Kayyem, who has a tendency to emit psycho vibes and is near the top of the hour at 5:00 PM, pleaded with the White House for it to stop calling immigration enforcement agencies. “From an investigation standpoint … the most important thing for the federal government to do right now is to say there will be no immigration enforcement during this period in that area,” she demanded.

“It has a large immigration population. It is important that parents are there for their children. People shouldn’t be hiding. We need to be clear about that as soon as possible Due to the politics in Texas,” she added.

Elle returned almost eleven minutes later to increase her demand. “the federal government to say right now, everyone is essentially safe harbor right now in terms of immigration status.”

She continued to suggest that Texas is somehow at the root of this problem:

This is because incidents such as these are when you need a strong Federal presence and a strong police presence. This is something we know. People don’t always react the way you do. And we want to make sure that they know, despite all the politics that are going on in Texas right now, it’s the federal government that’s in charge of immigration enforcement, and people are safe.

In the second half of the hour, Tapper went back to Kayyem to have her respond to AG Paxton’s desire to have an armed defense at schools. Tapper’s disgust with Paxton’s defense of gun rights and facts about the mentality of murders was noticeable as he read the statement:

Attorney General Paxton said moments ago, quote, “people that are shooting people that are killing kids, they’re not following murder laws. They won’t follow gun laws. I’d much rather have law-abiding citizens armed and trained so that they can respond when something like this happens because it’s not going to be the last time,” unquote. 14 elementary school students and a teacher were the victims. How do you respond to Attorney General Paxton

Claiming she was “going to address” Paxton the he “intended it to be addressed,” Kayyem started off by suggesting Paxton was possibly talking about arming the elementary students. “I want to take his claim seriously, and the first is obviously, we aren’t arming elementary school kids, obviously. We don’t arm them, and they were defenseless,”She huffed.

“The second is the issue of arming teachers which is clearly going to be part of this political debate in the future,” she griped. While she did not provide any evidence to support her assertions, “clearly going to lead to more deaths rather than fewer, because of accidents or things getting elevated. That’s what most of the data shows.”

Kayyem blasted schools for being defensive throughout her speech.

This includes matters that Paxton has brought up. Paxton wants us to stop talking about guns. He is eager to speak about what’s driving him, but he feels so defensive.Think of it this way: You’re just a parent. You’re only going to defend the team all of the time.Do you think it would be a good idea to cross your fingers and hope that the teacher has weapons? That’s what we do in every other situation.

JULIETTE KAYYEM – From an investigative standpoint, I will do my best to find out the truth. So, I’ve got demographics first of all, an 80 percent Hispanic school district. It is important for the federal government right now to declare there will not be immigration enforcement during that period.

There is a lot of immigration. It is important that parents are there for their children. People shouldn’t be hiding now. We need to be clear about that, because of Texas’ political problems.

KAYYEM (I want to repeat it once more, because I do not know the motives of those who are behind this. We don’t even know what they’re thinking. I’m just telling you demographics. This area is home to a majority Hispanic community. It is home to a significant immigrant population, which is located near San Antonio.

The federal government must declare that everyone in immigration matters is currently safe harbour. People need to speak up and not be afraid of their immigration status. Take their children, take their families.

This is because incidents such as these are when you need a strong Federal presence and a strong police presence. This is something we know. People don’t always react the same way as me or you to police presence. And we want to make sure that they know, despite all the politics that are going on in Texas right now, it’s the federal government that’s in charge of immigration enforcement, and people are safe.

Take your kids and get them together. Don’t hide. The White House needs to tell you right away. It should be done immediately.

JAKE TAPPER: Attorney General Paxton said moments ago, quote, “people that are shooting people that are killing kids, they’re not following murder laws. They won’t follow gun laws. I’d much rather have law-abiding citizens armed and trained so that they can respond when something like this happens because it’s not going to be the last time,” unquote. The 14 victims were elementary school students and a teacher. How do you respond to Attorney General Paxton

KAYYEM, So I take his claim seriously. This is clearly the winning political stance. We don’t see any changes in gun laws. Therefore, I will take his assertion seriously. They weren’t defenseless and we didn’t arm their bodies.

Second, the question of arming teachers is clearly going be part of the political discussion in the future.

Armed teachers won’t work unless the teacher can stop the perpetrator. This is a big assumption. Instead of playing defense, arm everyone at school. This is going to cause more deaths than less due to accidents and things becoming higher. This is what the majority of data indicates. This is why you should play some offense.

Paxton brings up these issues. He wants us to not talk about guns, because he wants people to discuss what is driving this individual. But that is so defensive. Think of it like a parent. You’re going to defend the child all the time. You can cross your fingers the teacher has weapons. That’s what we do in every other situation.

Just because it’s true, I will not take this as gospel. Already, I am getting quite a bit of hatred on Twitter and other social media. People are clearly upset. I will address the matter as the attorney general intends.
