Chuck Throws COVID Muck: Right-Wing Media ‘Misinformers’ Have ‘Blood on Their Hands’

Friday, MTP Daily a few minutes before the Rittenhouse verdict took over the news, host Chuck Todd uncorked a nasty editorial about the persistent trend of COVID deaths under Biden. Todd said that Team Biden’s blood is on Team Biden’s hands and not the “right-wing media”. He laid it on thick in claiming only the red states were full of COVID problems. 

TODD: The pandemic is relentless. Biden attempted to exonerate it from July 4, but more than 160,000 Americans are now dead. Vaccines were readily available. Most of the recent deaths are unvaccinated.And those who have blood on their hands are also the misinformers, especially within right-wing media.

While the media assumed that pretty much every COVID death under Trump could be directly tied to Trump, Todd tapdanced on the line that Biden isn’t responsible at all for the persistent death toll on his watch. Blame Fox News, talk radio and the media!

TODD: More than 770,000 people have died in total – 365,000 since January 20 of this year. And meanwhile the administration this week has suspended its work on enforcing OSHA’s vaccine mandate for private sector workers due to some legal issues, thanks to the Fifth Circuit.

The White House doesn’t seem to be anxious about focusing more energy, political capital and time on fighting politicalization. [sic]This is the pandemic. They are fighting powerful forces of disinformation and defiance, which has only made the human suffering worse.

Since the beginning, this pandemic was politicized in media. It is inexplicable to think that Biden had to suddenly fight for the prevention of the politicizing. Or that MSNBC didn’t demonstrate the “partisan divide” during the suffering. Todd pushed for that partisan divide as much as he could. 

TODD: Data from The New York TimesI’m referring to the CDC. 19 of the 20 counties with the highest COVID death rates per capita right now are all in deep red America. All of them voted for Trump. Only if the ex-president would persuade them to get vaccinated. However, he didn’t. The trend is similar to hospitals that have the highest rate of hospitalizations. It’s predominantly in red America as well.

On the other side, there are many blue states that have been vaccinated in the ten highest vaccination rates. Every single one of the ten most vaccinated states voted for Biden in 2020. All but one state, Georgia, was not vaccinated.

This is an egregious tactic. This chart shows that COVID deaths between the start and this week show that Biden has won in states mixed in. New Jersey ranks third in deaths per 100,000 population, Arizona fifth, New York seventh, New York ninth, Georgia ninth, Massachusetts and Rhode Island eleventh and twelveth, respectively.

On Friday there weren’t any ads during the MTP Hour, however, Cadillac and Liberty Mutual had ads right before this comment.
