Just today, the Republican National Committee voted in favor of censuring Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R.IL) as well as Rep. Liz Cheney(R.WY). This was due to their involvement with Jan. 6 Committee. It was approved by the committee and passed on Friday.
RNC passed Cheney’s censure resolution without discussion. With a handful of nos, the overwhelming voice vote for yes was unanimous. Unclear yelled no.

Nearly every corner of the community supports the resolution to censure Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger. @GOPFrom what I was able to tell, at the RNC Meeting.
Everyone seems to agree that Liz and Adam shouldn’t be calling themselves Republicans taking orders from Democrats.

It is the first time the national party has ever rebuked an incumbent congressional Republican – much less two – with a formal censure that is so backed by its members.
“This is not about them being anti-Trump,” Harmeet Dhillon, RNC national committeeperson from California, told Politico. “There are plenty of other people in the party who are anti-Trump whose names don’t appear in the resolution. These two took specific action to defy party leadership.”
Cheney stated that their goal was to keep Donald Trump’s from winning again. They have not only been anti-Trump, but they also made it clear that Republicans were being ignored in all of their endeavors. Although the Democrats wouldn’t allow Republicans to appoint their preferred members to the Committee of the Whole, Kinzinger, Cheney and others voted for the Committee. They accepted the appointment by Nancy Pelosi, D-CA. They have stood by Democrats throughout the Democrats’ attempts to denigrate Republicans since Jan. 6. Any Republican with a remaining brain cell would see that the Committee isn’t about a “bipartisan effort” to get to the truth, but an effort to try to smear Republicans in the run-up to the midterms. You don’t need a partisan committee to investigate the riot, when you have more than ample law enforcement doing that. This censure is deserved.
Naturally, it’s causing a meltdown, including from the usual suspects on the left, as well as the Never Trump people.
NY Post
“I have no regrets about my decision to uphold my oath of office and defend the Constitution. I will continue to focus my efforts on standing for truth and working to fight the political matrix that’s led us to where we find ourselves today,” Kinzinger tweeted.
“The leaders of the Republican Party have made themselves willing hostages to a man who admits he tried to overturn a presidential election and suggests he would pardon Jan. 6 defendants, some of whom have been charged with seditious conspiracy,” Cheney said, slamming those loyal to Trump.
“I’m a constitutional conservative and I do not recognize those in my party who have abandoned the Constitution to embrace Donald Trump. Their fate will be decided by history. “I will not stop fighting for the Constitutional Republic. No matter what.”
What cluelessness are the Never Trump people?
Sen. Bill Cassidy (RINO-LA) said, “The RNC is censuring Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger because they are trying to find out what happened on January 6th – HUH?”
Ronna McDaniel (RNC Chair) supports censuring. But her uncle, Senator Mitt Romney (RINO UT), opposes it.
“Shame falls on a party that would censure persons of conscience, who seek truth in the face of vitriol,” he wrote in a tweet. “Honor attaches to Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger for seeking truth even when doing so comes at great personal cost.”
Um, no, Senators, that’s not the problem here. The problem is it’s a completely partisan effort that has nothing to do with the truth.
You can see the difference in the right.
All those who were not completely loyal to Hitler were expelled by the Nazi Party. Today, the GOP will condemn Liz Cheney (and Adam Kinzinger) for their inability to be 100% loyal towards Donald Trump.
Although I am not saying that the GOP has the same evil intentions as Nazis, it is following Nazi practice of demanding total loyalty to their leader.— (((DeanObeidallah))) (@DeanObeidallah) February 4, 2022
And it’s the Republicans who are unhinged?
Both Cheney and Kinzinger believe that they are preparing themselves to run for higher offices at the national level. But Cheney can’t even win a straw poll for her own seat in Wyoming . By a lot, she lost to the Trump-supported candidate who is primarying for her. The only thing they are positioning themselves for is being the ‘Republican’ contributors on MSNBC or CNN — after they get voted out by the people in November. This will lead to the final censure.
