Social media users are drawing parallels between the subject of a wildly popular Netflix documentary series and former secretary of state Hillary Clinton.
Carole Baskin, an animal rights activist and owner of a Florida animal sanctuary, is just one of the strange and colorful personalities chronicled in “Tiger King.”
The seven-episode program depicts Baskin as the icy, possibly sinister, nemesis to “Tiger King’s” erratic and brash protagonist, Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage, otherwise known as Joe Exotic.

Throughout the docuseries, Exotic fixates on rumors that Baskin murdered her husband Don Lewis, a millionaire who disappeared in 1997.
Exotic, a larger-than-life former zoo operator and country music singer, has claimed Baskin killed Lewis and got rid of the evidence by feeding his body to tigers. He even made a music video about it in 2015:
In January, Exotic was sentenced to 22 years in federal prison for an array of charges, including counts related to a plot to murder Baskin.
“Pretty sure she has him tranqued though”
The massive success of “Tiger King” has prompted fan theories, a campaign to free Exotic from prison and spurred internet commenters to notice supposed similarities between Baskin and Clinton.

Some users claimed Clinton and Baskin’s mannerisms are “eerily alike.”

Others have extended the analogy, comparing President Donald Trump to Exotic.

“The only reason Bill hasn’t been fed to the tigers is people are watching her too closely. Pretty sure she has him tranqued though,” tweeted American Spectator publisher Melissa Mackenzie.
Conspiracy theories concerning an alleged “Clinton body count” have proliferated among the conservative fringe for years.
Clinton’s purportedly nefarious nature has become something of a running joke on the right.
Kate McKinnon, who, coincidentally, is widely known for appearing as Clinton on “Saturday Night Live,” will play Baskin in an upcoming series based on her story.

Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister announced on Monday police were searching for new leads related to the disappearance of Baskin’s husband.
