Friday, CBS’s Catherine Herridge interviewed former Attorney General Bill Barr on the January 6 investigation. Barr gave an intriguing statement towards the end. For your convenience, the segment has been cued to include Barr’s quote.
The setup from Herridge was, ” What is the future of the Republican Party?”
My outlook is positive. My vision of 2024 is a continuation of 1980, where Reagan won two terms and Bush won the third. And that’s what I think you need to really Make America Great Again. A decisive victory against the excesses and corruption of progressive Democrats. That is something I believe we can do again with the right person. But i don’t think Trump is that candidate.
The day that he’s elected, he’ll be a 78-year-old lame duck who is obviously bent on revenge more than anything else.
It is difficult to comprehend everything.
The GOP hasn’t faced a weaker Democrat in a presidential election since the 80s. Joe Biden will be our opponent or a similarly weak candidate. Gavin Newsome will be the most popular candidate among Democrats who have strong national names recognition. If Biden goes on a ventilator and fingerprinting with his own urine when 2024 rolls around, I believe he’ll still be running. The second string is such luminaries as Pete Buttigieg, fresh off his “chest feeding” experience, or the “woman sitting at the table wearing a blue suit” who uses she/her pronouns. The evidence suggests that 2024 has our support, provided all legal votes have been cast.
Our main concern is who will run. Everyone would agree with me that Donald Trump, the GOP frontrunner at the moment is the nominee. That said, he’s obviously a polarizing figure, and many get a bad case of liquid bowels when his name is mentioned (New York Post Sets the Stage for Another Flight 93 Election by Declaring President Trump ‘Unworthy’ to Be President). Barr falls into that same category.
Let’s take his points in reverse. He is 100% correct in everything he claims. Although he will turn 78 in a few months, he is still a good option for Joey SoftServe. His team will pursue revenge. Trump Team plans to purge the FBI and Department of Justice after election. He is a shrewd, intelligent man. You are correct. I can easily vote for Trump again on the promise that he will eliminate federal bureaucracy.
Barr’s prediction that 2024 might be fulfilled is my opinion. Twelve years is an awfully long period of time for presidential politics. A president who opposes transgenderism and CRT should still be eligible to run for two terms, provided that there’s a strong focus on voting integrity and the counting of all legal votes.
Are we able to have the vengeance that we desire with two or more terms of service?
Can we get two or more terms if we don’t crush the Democrat stormtroopers within the bureaucracy?
Do we have to settle for revenge and let the future unfold by our own accord?
Who is most likely to achieve vengeance if that is our ultimate goal?
Is Donald Trump able to take vengeance without destroying the GOP’s chances in 2028? Is it possible?
I don’t pretend to be a pollster, so I don’t know the answers to these questions. On the one hand, I don’t think President Trump is the guy capable of setting up a GOP win in 2028. I don’t think his second term will be much less of a political sh**show than was his first. Let’s face it. Trump enjoys controversy and combat. On the other hand, I’m not sure what winning in 2024 is worth very much unless gutting the FBI, DOJ, and the intelligence agencies is a top priority.
