ABC, NBC Skip Gun Control Activist Being Charged With Attempted Murder…Using a Gun

Late Monday afternoon saw the attack on Craig Greenberg, Louisville’s mayoral candidate (D), and his campaign headquarters by an alleged gunman, who is ironically a far-left gun control advocate. Quintez Brown is a 21-year-old suspect. CBS Mornings was the only news network that mentioned the shooting.

 

 

CBS MorningsThe alleged shooting was mentioned in the Eye Openers, which serve as a recap and tease of the preceding hour respectively. Tony Dokoupil also gave a short 34 second brief in which he talked about the event. “a shocking attack” against “a Democratic candidate for mayor” in which he said “a gunman walked into his campaign office and fired at him” However “no one was hurt” As staff “managed to shut the door and barricade it.”

Dokoupil provided details about the suspect: “Police arrested Quintez Brown, a local activist, about a half mile from the scene and he’s charged with one count of attempted murder, four counts of endangerment. No motive so far, according to officials.”

“A local activist,” Tony? That’s it?

Following a “wow” from fill-in co-host Michelle Miller, that was it.

Then there’s the Courier Journal, reporter Andrew Wolfson revealed in a piece about the incident that Brown’s “a civil rights activist” as well as “a former intern and editorial columnist for The Courier Journal.”

According a count of Brown’s author page (as of this writing), he penned25 products Column for July 2019.Especially ironic: “Kentucky’s concealed carry law shows your life doesn’t matter to gun-loving Republicans.”

Brown Also, on MSNBC with Joy Reid during the network’s special coverage of the March for Our Lives, a gun control rally in Washington D.C. that took place on March 24, 2018.

He said that he came to Washington because he wanted to show that gun violence “is not just, you know, a white student issue,” but one that “affects everyone.”

Adding that “gun violence doesn’t just affects schools but…everywhere” and school had become a “war zone,” Brown blamed Republicans for the bloodshed and not “car[ing] about…lives” for failing to pass “commonsense gun reform” that “humans need.”

While ABC’s Good Morning America wasn’t interested (along with NBC’s Get it Today() One of their night newscasts mentions it in America This Morning

DYMBURT : Louisville police are currently investigating a motive in an assassination plot against a Democrat who is running for the office of mayor. Craig Greenberg was shot in the head at his campaign offices. The suspect has been taken into custody.

HANSON. A suspect has been taken into custody for a possible attempt to assassinate a Democratic candidate for the office of mayor in Louisville, Kentucky. Craig Greenberg claimed that he and four other men were in the campaign office when a suspect appeared. The man then began shooting. According to him, one bullet had grazed his skin. He was not hurt. 

GREENBERG: The gunman came to — stood in the doorway and — as he fired the shots, and one of my teammates was standing to the side of the door and was able to get the door slammed and then he and over teammates that were closer to the door threw tables and desk to barricade us in. 

HANSON – Quintez, 21 years old was charged with attempted murder. The motive for the arrest is unknown.

[ON-SCREEN HEADLINE: Louisville Assassination Attempt; Mayoral Candidate Targeted by Gunman at Campaign HQ]

TONY DOKOUPIL – We now travel to Louisville, where an alleged attack on a Democratic candidate for the mayor was committed. According to the candidate, yesterday a gunman broke into his office and shot at him. The candidate’s name is Craig Greenberg and he says one of the bullets grazed his sweater. It was a good thing that no one was seriously hurt. Four of the colleagues managed to close the door and blockade the entrance. Quintez Brown was a local activist who was located about half a mile away from the crime scene. He’s been charged with attempted murder and four counts each of endangerment. According to authorities, there is no motive at this time.

VLADIMIR DUTHIERS – A Louisville gunman is being held on suspicion of trying to kill a Democratic candidate for mayor. The candidate claims that he was only slightly injured by the bullet, but no one else was hurt.
