Next day, Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon was also robbed at gunpoint at F.D.R. Park is Philadelphia. Apparently, none of the three broadcast evening newscasts thought these stories deserved to be covered in depth.
CBS Evening News The only night network newscast that covered the carjacking attempt on Congresswoman Scanlon lasted only twenty-four seconds.
According to CBS Evening NewsJamie Yuccas is the fill-in host. Congresswoman Scanlon stole her Acura 2017 and her private cell phone.
Today, the surge in crime is making it difficult for a U.S. Congresswoman to function. F.D.R. two men carjacked Mary Gay Scanlon at gunpoint. Park, Philadelphia. Her injuries were not serious. But the robbers stole her 2017 Acura and her I.D., as well as her private and government cell phone, purse, and personal cellphones. This year, Philadelphia saw more than 500 homicides.

According to police, multiple shots were fired. However, no one was seriously hurt. In the meantime, police say that Mary Gay Scanlon from south Philadelphia was the victim in a second carjacking. According to police, Scanlon was walking towards her car when two men approached her and demanded her keys.
ABC? NBC? There was not one mention. It would seem that the broadcasts of these networks would provide this coverage. However, this was not the case.
Instead, some of the networks spent precious airtime on a missing three-year-old girl in Texas (CBS), weather reports in the Bay Area (CBS), Christmas lights (ABC), and a local Florida police department’s search for a young boy who sent an officer money in a thank you card (NBC).
Although these stories matter to their local communities, they don’t have any national implications. National news channels like ABC, NBC, or CBS should be covering stories with national consequences.
