On Friday night, Nancy Pelosi was reported to have bought computers worth millions of dollars by Paul her husband. This happened ahead of Tuesday’s House vote that would give billions to chip-maker subsidy.
This story was totally ignored by Monday night’s newscasts. The broadcasters focused instead on reports regarding the weather in Hawaii and the tsunami that hit a Hawaiian beach wedding. ABC’s World News Tonight CBS Evening NewsPlease see the following: NBC Nightly News All agreed that the possible insider trading of Pelosi’s husband was not important news.
According to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s Gabe Kaminsky, “Paul Pelosi purchased 20,000 shares of Nvidia, one of the world’s largest semiconductor companies, on June 17, according to the speaker’s disclosure report released Thursday.”
According to Reuters, this was done days before the House votes on Tuesday to approve a bill that provides “billions in dollars of subsidies for semiconductor industry” and an investment credit to increase U.S. manufacturing.
Craig Holman, who is a government affairs lobbyist for the leftist think tank Public Citizen told Kaminsky that Pelosi’s stock purchases “certainly raises the specter that Paul Pelosi could have access to some insider legislative information” adding that “this is the reason why there is a stock trading app that exclusively monitors Paul’s trading activity and then its followers do likewise.”
In a statement Monday to Fox Business, Speaker Pelosi’s spokesman Drew Hammill claimed “The Speaker does not own any stocks. As you can see from the required disclosures, with which the Speaker fully cooperates, these transactions are marked ‘SP’ for Spouse. No prior involvement or knowledge by the Speaker in these transactions has been made.”
This bias by omission from the three networks was made possible by Ensure on ABC, Red Lobster on CBS, and Cadillac on NBC. You can link their information to let them know the bias news that they finance.
