Politico Chronicles New York Times Meltdown Over Recent Project Veritas Videos

Project Veritas released a few undercover videos. New York TimesMatthew Rosenberg, national security correspondent at the newspaper has created quite a stir because Rosenberg had some harsh words to say about his coworkers. He specifically criticized their ridiculous drama queen reactions to Capitol Hill’s January 6th events.

It seems that the Times has a conundrum. Even though Rosenberg’s critiques caused much outrage among many of their staff members, Dean Baquet, their executive editor in Washington D.C. on Thursday asked staff to remain calm and not let Project Veritas have the pleasure of watching their heads explode.

Baquet’s problem is the fact that information about that meeting has leaked. PoliticoIt is the same as in Friday PlaybookThe results were revealed during the New York Times heads did in fact explode over what Rosenberg said in the Project Veritas videos such as the first one below.

THE NYT’S PROJECT VERITAS QUAGMIRE — At a Thursday lunch in the New York Times Washington bureau, upset reporters pressed executive editor DEAN BAQUET about a recent sting operation targeting national security reporter MATTHEW ROSENBERG, according to two people present.

Project Veritas has posted videos of Rosenberg disclosing sensitive details and disparaging colleagues in his newsroom. Rosenberg suggested that the media was overhyping the siege on the Capitol on Jan. 6, scoffing at colleagues who were there that day who said they were traumatized, and blasted what he called left-leaning younger Times reporters wrapped up in a “woke” culture influencing coverage.

According to more than half a dozen reporters, tensions flared immediately among Times staff. Multiple journalists expressed dismay that Rosenberg was ignoring their coverage and shaming coworkers during Thursday’s lunch.

According to Times employees, Baquet responded by critiquing Rosenberg’s carelessness and stupidity. But he said that Project Veritas is trying to “make our heads explode” and divide the Times, and that they should not play into the group’s hands.

Project Veritas loves nothing more than exploding heads. New York TimesStaff leak to PoliticoDean Baquet claimed that Project Veritas tried to blow their heads off.

While some reporters told us that management needs to address this issue or even want to see Rosenberg punished, there’s deep concern about fueling Project Veritas’ work.

In an effort to capture Democrats and members of the media saying inappropriate things, they have used disguised cameras or false identities. It has recently singled out New York Times reporters who have written about the group’s tactics as well as an ongoing Justice Department investigation over how the group obtained Biden’s daughter ASHLEY’s diary.

These reporters are ADAM GOLDMAN MICHAELSCHMIDT, MARK MAZZETTI and ADAM GOLDMAN.

Project Veritas sued New York Times also for defamation.

Many at the Times — even those unhappy with Rosenberg — view the latest Project Veritas hit as an attempt at intimidation. And they’re loath to be seen as reacting to such tactics, which they say have crossed a line into harassment.

These people are not likely to react to these tactics, which were immediately undermined when they leaked to Politicoabout how loathful they were to be seen reacting the Project Veritas revelations.
