Yankee Stadium Employee Fired Over NYC Vaccine Mandate

New York City’s mandate for vaccines has hampered the lives of many thousands. Eric Adams, Mayor of New York City insists that everyone (except entertainers or athletes) need to get vaccinated to work. It is a ridiculous reality which has offended many New Yorkers.

Virginia Alleyne spent 17 years working at Yankees Stadium’s Legends Suite Club. However, she was laid off recently because her refusal to get vaccinated meant that she had to stop using the club. Alleyne was one of more than 1,400 NYC workers who lost their jobs as a consequence of this mandate.

Yankee Stadium was packed with approximately 50,000 supporters for the three games against Boston Red Sox. The fans also had no need to be concerned about their immunization status. However, Alleyne is currently unable to provide for her 15-year old autistic son and herself because she relies on logic.

“For him to allow millionaires to work and to punish the workers who are the lifeblood of this city is just horrendous,” Alleyne said.

Frankly, she’s right.

Alleyne and others like her are trying to survive, but they’re not getting the benefits. Now they need to worry about where they will get their next paycheck.

It is important to note that she is not the only citizen who will suffer.

New York City attorney James Mermigis, who has earned the nickname “Anti-shutdown lawyer” for backing a slew of litigation against NYC’s mandates, has filed a class-action lawsuit in support of Alleyne.

On Friday, Adams made an open statement in which he attacked Adams for using double standards to get his mandate. He said, “Today is opening day. My client will not be there. Yankee Stadium will host fifty thousand spectators, regardless of vaccination status. However my client remains unemployed.

Mermigis stated that the lawsuit was filed to rally the support of other employees affected by the mandate.
