“WWJD.” What would Jesus do? You may recall those bracelets. You could find them everywhere. The phrase became popular in the late 1800s as a result of the widely-read book, “In His Steps: What Would Jesus Do,” by Charles Monroe Sheldon, a Congregationalist minister and leader of the Social Gospel movement.
What was the WWJD answer from 1800-2000? It has varied widely depending on how the questions were answered at different times and who was answering them. But now, according to one Texas Democrat candidate, WWJB — “What Would Jesus Do you want to be? — appears to be a more important question.
This is a political expedient view.
As RINO-turned-Democrat Matthew Dowd, political pundit and chief strategist for the Bush–Cheney 2004 presidential campaign, who’s now running in the Texas lieutenant governor’s race, sees it, as reported by Fox News, 2021 Jesus would be declared “woke” by conservatives. The darling of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” apparently had an epiphany in Church on Sunday.
Today, as I sat at church, I thought that Jesus would be called a woke person if he was present. We could just agree that all human beings have the right to respect others and treat them with dignity.
Uh-huh. How about including white people who are deemed to be guilty of systemic racist behavior simply due to their skin color in the group of those whom we respect and treat dignity, Mr. Dowd.
Parents who do not agree with the Marxist-derived Critical Race Theory indoctrination of their kids are also at risk. They deserve to be treated with respect, dignity and honor.

Dowd’s ridiculous epiphany comes on the heels of James Carville — the “Ragin’ Cajun” — blaming Democrat Terry McAuliffe’s watershed loss in the Virginia governor’s race on “stupid wokeness,” as reported by Fox News.
The veteran political strategist, known as the architect of former President Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential campaign, went full metal Carville in his blistering takedown of today’s Democrat Party.
“What went wrong is stupid wokeness. Don’t just look at Virginia and New Jersey. Take a look at Long Island, Buffalo and Minneapolis. Even Seattle, Washington.
“I mean this ‘defund the police’ lunacy, this take Abraham Lincoln’s name off of schools, people see that. This has an extremely suppressive effect all across the nation on Democrats.
“Some people in this group need to be admitted to a detox program or other support..”
Carville fired back at Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-LOON), an erstwhile bartender. (See: “Fighting a battle of wits with no ammunition.”) as Fox noted.

Incidentally, Merriam-Webster added the word woke to its dictionary in 2017, defining it as: “aware of and actively attentive to important facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice).”
The Oxford English Dictionary added “woke” the same year, defining it as “originally: well-informed, up-to-date. Now principally Be aware of racial and social discrimination..”
James Carville suggests far-left libertarians should visit a woke detox centre. AOC claims that only the elderly use this term and Matthew Dowd, backbencher politician, agrees Republicans would call Jesus “woke.”
