The silence of woke ESPN women’s college basketball broadcasters was golden, but they ruined it by also spouting off against the Florida education bill. ESPN’s weekend broadcasts of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament were marred by triggered announcers’ inaccurate portrayal of the Florida bill aimed at protecting students from sexual indoctrination. This is the bill that lying lefties are calling the “don’t say gay bill.”
The woke ESPN broadcasters were not happy with the LGBT rights debate and refused to allow the game to be called for short periods. They were strongly supporting the LGBT agenda as well as opposing Florida House Bill 15.57 by calling Woke ESPN.
The political posturing began at the start of the second half of Friday’s South Carolina-Howard women’s game. Broadcasters Carolyn Peck (seen in photo) and Courtney Lyle went off the rails by labeling the Parental Rights in Education bill “a threat to human rights.” After spewing boiler-plate, left-wing narratives, they went silent for two minutes.
Lyle stated:
“Normally at this time we would take a look back at the first half, but there are things bigger than basketball that need to be addressed at this time. Right now, we are in deep distress. Our family, friends, co-workers and the coaches and players of our community, as well as our families, are all affected. Our LGBTQIA+ Disney colleagues asked for support and solidarity at Disney at around 8:15 p.m., in opposition of the Parental Rights in Education bill in Florida.
Peck was blathered
And a threat against any human right is a threat on all human rights. Courtney and myself will pause our broadcast at this point to express our support and love for our family members, friends and colleagues.
Pam Ward and Stephanie White protested the Florida bill silently on Saturday during Florida vs. Central Florida.
Before going silent for a moment, ESPN’s Elle Duncan said the Florida anti-indoctrination bill is “targeting LGBTQ communities” and reported that colleagues were planning walkouts. Duncan then gave TV viewers silence after expressing her political views.
This game might have been more watchable if the activist broadcasters would only go with silence. ESPN was only enhancing its image as the network for all things left and awake.
ESPN is owned by Disney, and the parent company’s employees were also incensed over the Florida parents’ bill. LGBTQABCDE&F employees at Disney and their supporters blew gaskets because the company did not launch stronger attacks on Florida lawmakers.
Chapek groveled before his employees, saying he was “sorry” he didn’t more strongly oppose the bill from the beginning.:
“It is clear that this is not just an issue about a bill in Florida, but instead yet another challenge to basic human rights. It was your expectation that I would be an ally to you in the struggle for equal rights. I am sorry.”
Despite the left’s lies about the bill, it actually protects children 10 and under from exposure to school indoctrination. It is important that parents are informed about the sex education provided for such children. The word “gay” is not mentioned in the bill, but those on the Left need to lie in order to poison people against the legislation.
