While Most Americans Think Country Is on Wrong Track, Biden Spends Friday Afternoon Filming With Jay Leno – Opinion

President Joe Biden filmed with Jay Leno on Friday afternoon at the James Rowley Training Center in Maryland, which few would argue is a productive use of the president’s time.

While the press pool could not witness the taping but noted that there was a track that had a corvette, “an old pickup truck, and a newer pickup truck,” The Hill White House Correspondent Alex Gangitano tweeted.

One can assume that all of these vehicles are gas-guzzlers, despite Democrats’ constant push toward electric vehicles. These cars could run on either electricity or vegetable oils, and Americans may be astonished when it airs. But that’s not the point.

A recent NBC poll found that 74% believe America is on the wrong track. There’s nothing wrong with the president having a little fun, except these are difficult times right now for a lot of people. Americans are struggling to get gas due to inflation and poor policies regarding energy.

Jay Leno is not the one at fault here — whoever decided that this was a good idea at the White House is. While some may see this as good optics for Commander-in Chief, others might consider it a waste of time. Leno will not likely gain new followers by this move, even though he knows he has nothing to lose.

Already, the president has been under investigation for frequent trips to Rehoboth Beach in Delaware on weekends. In fact, Biden left for Delaware once again after filming the show, according to the president’s public schedule. FiveThirtyEight’s disapproval average is 53.5 percent. His decision to leave Washington for fun TV spots isn’t helping in this area.

Who knows, perhaps it’s a good thing that the president is not working as much as many would like. This leaves little room for error.
