‘What Is The Purpose?’: Rep. Donalds Questions Gov’t Investigating Washington Commanders

Congress spends a substantial amount of resources and time investigating Dan Snyder and the Washington Commanders. U.S. Representative Byron Donalds is not satisfied with this.

Donalds asked Carolyn Maloney, D-NY, why Congress wasn’t focusing on issues in a national sports league and not the whole country.

“How does continuing this hearing actually relate to a legitimate task of Congress, in the face of record high inflation, record high gas prices, a completely unsecured border, a fentanyl crisis that is killing more people between the ages of 18-45 than any other cause in the United States, a baby formula crisis, a tampon crisis…” Donalds said.

Maloney was unable to control Donalds’ voice and bang her gavel.

“You can bang the gavel all you want but I don’t really care,” he said.
