Karine Jean Pierre is terrible at her job. In May she was appointed to her job. She read through her briefing book and listed all her qualifications. She told us she’s a black, lesbian immigrant. That’s it for qualifications. That was all she had to do. Much like Kamala Harris – instead of being picked for competency, Jean-Pierre was picked because of what she is, not what she accomplished.
There are many admirers for her. It’s usually people like “kingofoneself.” He’s a TikTok star, with 2.7 million followers. In May, he posted a rant praising Jean-Pierre’s gifts. Like Whoopi Goldberg praising Dr. Jill for being an “amazing doctor,” Kingofoneself praised Jean-Pierre for her phantom skills. He added:
“[Y]ou know there are racist white women who are pissed because they said we are in spaces that they said, we would never be…because she back and she gay, so you know they will come for her.”
Well, everyone, both publicly and privately, “came for her.” They came for her, not because she’s a black or gay person, or an immigrant – they “came for her” because she’s awful at her job. White House reporters think she is incompetent and a bit too smart to be asked softball questions. About the only person who seems determined to ask her a question “outside the box” is Pete Doocy of Fox News.

Jean-Pierre was instantly obvious as incompetent. Jean-Pierre’s incompetence was obvious immediately. When she gets asked questions that are not answered in a prepared answer, she will refer to her book. She looks only up to check that the journalists are not in the area. For emphasis, she gestures with both her hands. It’s not quite as irritating as Jen Psaki’s hair-flips, but at least Psaki was a competent liar.
Jen Psaki has a great ability to communicate. That’s not to say that Psaki wasn’t a skilled liar – she was – but at least one could watch Psaki without thinking we were watching a fourth-grader pee her pants in the middle of a recital.
Jean-Pierre may check every box regarding diversity, but she does not have any competency boxes. She cannot communicate a coherent position outside of what’s written for her, without completely murdering the answer. If a canned answer isn’t in the briefing book, she’ll wing it to disastrous effect. She’s really bad at her job.

She’s also can’t be fired. Jean-Pierre, a gay and black immigrant from Canada. That carries three layers of “unfirebility.” She’s checks most of the diversity boxes, and she’s incompetent to boot–making her a perfect fit for this administration.
