We can point to many dumb moments in today’s trial against Kyle Rittenhouse. The very idea that the case had been brought to court was absurd and almost political.
Beyond the inappropriate actions by the prosecution we mentioned earlier and the bizarre attempt of the prosecutor somehow to bring video games into this case, there may be a more dumb moment that shows just what apathetic Thomas Binger the prosecutor is in this particular case. Plus, we have a truly dumb media moment, courtesy of liberal “journalist” troll Aaron Rupar.
The prosecution has been trying to paint Rittenhouse as someone who came to Kenosha looking for trouble, which is actually pretty ironic given that’s how you would describe the folks from BLM/Antifa who were torching the city and attacking people. Rittenhouse did not get attacked, and he only fired on those who were attacking him.
Binger, who was obviously flailing and carrying a fire extinguisher, ran to Kyle’s aid. John Sexton (our sister website Hot Air) captured the moment.
He is flailing, the Rittenhouse prosecutor. The Rittenhouse prosecutor is just flailing.
Rittenhouse: It was a fire?

“It was a fire?” Rittenhouse responded, obviously thinking the prosecution has lost it at this point.
Facepalm, anyone? You’re crazy!
Binger claimed that Binger wanted to make it seem inappropriate for people to use a fire extinguisher to help put out flames and provide first aid. But I guess that’s now bad. You’re not allowed to do that.
My colleague Sister Toldjah hit on the bad take Bakari Sellers had about Rittenhouse’s testimony.
Rupar won the award for the dumbest media decision of the day. The judge’s phone went off while he was hearing the motion from the defense for a mistrial with prejudice that we also reported on earlier.
Kyle Rittenhouse’s defense team claims the prosecution deliberately wants a mistrial when they return from lunch.
The judge’s cell phone rings in the meantime. Lee Greenwood’s patriotic hymn “God bless the U.S.A.” is playing as the ringtone. pic.twitter.com/xGY3dJd4e4

Here’s Rupar’s take on what having Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” as your ringtone means.
The Rittenhouse judge’s ring tone is literally Trump’s rally theme song. You can draw your own conclusions. https://t.co/g7ynaQsPmc

I’ll say this slowly for Aaron and whatever other crazy people may buy into this insanity: Stop the madness. You can’t go down the rabbit hole of nutsiness without falling.
People on the Left have lost all sense of reality over a parade of conspiracies like this. They’re not paying attention or caring about the facts showing that this was self-defense because that would disrupt and call into question their whole view of reality. It’s the same reason they opted for Russia collusion for all these years despite that never making any sense and even in the face of the Democrats’ involvement in that smear.
Rittenhouse, in their minds, is a racist militia member with wild eyes who traveled to Kenosha to kill black people. All of this is false, but it’s true that Rupar, and other associates of the left, believe in truth.
