Waukesha Attack Suspect ID’d; Was Released on Cash Bail Two Days Ago – Opinion

As we reported earlier, there was a horrible attack Sunday night in Waukesha, Wisconsin, in which a man driving a red SUV mowed down more than 20 people who were participating in the town’s Christmas parade. There were multiple fatalities but officials announced at a press conference that they won’t be releasing more specifics about even the number of deaths until the families have been notified.

Multiple reports that relied heavily on Broadcastify scan traffic claimed that a Waukesha officer had stated that the driver behind the SUV was a white male. “There’s a car going westbound approaching the parade course. A red Escape. Black male. I couldn’t stop him. He’s going westbound blowing his horn.”

A man from the family who was present at the parade called in to a local station, reporting that the driver of the car was a black man wearing dreadlocks. This video was now deleted.

However, according to NY Post reporter Karol Markiewicz, the person in custody is a black man with dreadlocks, Darrell E. Brooks.

This report hasn’t been confirmed by the police yet. However, if you do a search on the name of Markowicz, it will reveal that Markowicz is a convicted felon who has a lengthy criminal history and was released with $1,000 cash bail. This release occurred just two days before the latest charges were filed.

But the name Darrell Brooks can be heard during a discussion about the vehicle with an officer at ~24:00 on this audio, saying that Brooks’ identification was found in the vehicle. You can also hear the mention of “black male” and “dreadlocks” on this audio.

According to Darrell Brooks’ record, this is a Google Maps view of his home.

Here is a picture of Darrell Brooks, who shares the same birthday with Markowicz.

Brooks might have been fleeing a crime by crashing through barricades and entering the parade.

We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
