WashPost Singles Out DeSantis Press Secretary for Whacking Reporters on Twitter

Christina Pushaw is the Florida Governor’s press secretary. The Washington Post’s Wednesday morning negative profile of Ron DeSantis was published in The Washington Post. In the Thursday paper, the headline was “This press secretary makes sure reporters feel the burn.” The subhead added Pushaw “uses taunts to solidify tough image.”

Post media reporter Paul Farhi started with Pushaw’s taunting tweet from the Florida GOP “Sunshine Summit” last weekend. I want to tell them to just cry. She tweeted, mocking Jen Psaki (then White House press secretary): “Then go kickboxing and drink a margarita.” And write the hit piece that you had planned to write.

In the 14 months since joining DeSantis’s staff, she has transformed the typically button-down role of gubernatorial press secretary into something like a Running public brawl — with Twitter as her blunt-force weapon. These are her usual goals: Democrats, the news media and anyone else she deems insufficiently supportive of DeSantis’s agendashe also supports conservative political views.

Farhi failed to address the Washington Post “blunt-force” hatred of DeSantis. See this piece: “Washington Post Cartoonist Paints DeSantis as Child Murderer.”

Pushaw scare-quoted calling for the PostChelsea Clinton was called “the Pravda in D.C.” and Biden, “the Seemingly Senile 79 year-old aspirant dictator.” As if there were no other way. Post This didn’t mean that Trump’s children were liars and that Trump was a potential dictator. OMG, she even dared to claim that the national news media were “slobbering régime sycophants.” They Post Biden, his press secretary and Peter Doocy called Peter Doocy a “stupid little bitch”.

Some Florida “experts”, however, offered strange and unusual views.

After declining an interview, she suggested to her Twitter fans that the author contact The PostShe was trying to blackmail her with this profile. However, she eventually agreed to cooperate.

Some think Pushaw’s aggressive persona is strategic, acting as a kind of heat shield for DeSantis. “She’s the Dennis Rodman from Florida politics” said Peter Schorsch, the publisher of FloridaPolitics.com, referring to the NBA player who taunted his opponents to throw them off their game.

This is clearly not Dennis Rodman playing footsie with North Korean communist dictator Kim Jong Un. However, Rodman’s claim about DeSantis not being a target regularly of liberal media wasn’t so absurd.

“This governor has used his communications team more like a campaign-style operation than a public-information operation,” said Mary Ellen Klas, a reporter for the Miami Herald who has covered six Florida governors. “They see reporters as their enemies. Journalists are their enemies by default.

Sure. It’s the exact Mary Ellen Klas, who is responsible for breaking down DeSantis together with Stephanie Ruhle.

The same “newspaper”, which tried to create a fake news scandal by DeSantis renting an email list from Babylon Bee, is now this “newspaper”.
