The race for the governor’s seat in Virginia comes to its conclusion next week, and Democrat Terry McAuliffe remains in a fierce battle with Republican Glenn Youngkin. Youngkin seems to have an opportunity to win despite the fact Virginia remains overwhelmingly blue. This is largely because of the recent shift to the left in the north.
This means that the outdated playbook needs to be rewritten. This began with the unfounded claim of voter suppression, which was exacerbated by Stacey Abrams’s inept gubernatorial candidacy. Barack Obama shared the sentiment yesterday. claiming that Republicans are “systemically” preventing Americans from voting.
Then there’s the Post Office. The Post Office is another target. You might recall, during the 2020 election Democrats, including Joe Biden, made the federal mail system an object of attack. They claimed that they had purposely removed mailboxes in order to prevent mail-in ballots being delivered. It was a laughable lie, supported by absolutely no evidence.
Why not? It’s the same playbook and Virginia Democrats have sued USPS for claims of defranchisement.

The Virginia Democratic Party filed a lawsuit against the United States Postal Service (USPS) on Friday for allegedly failing to process and deliver election-related mail on time, contending the delays are “threatening to disenfranchise” thousands of voters ahead of next month’s contentious gubernatorial election.
The lawsuit argues that while problems are being observed throughout the commonwealth, the “significant delay in election mail” in Albemarle, Portsmouth and James City counties is “particularly egregious.”
The party is alleging that thousands of ballots delivered to postal facilities by general registrars in those counties are “still outstanding” and have yet to be scanned into USPS’s system.
What’s so ironic about this is that Democrat policies have caused the worker shortages and supply chain delays that have thrown the USPS into chaos. Mail service is experiencing significant delays over the past months, and this has nothing to do in Virginia. While the White House may laugh at these problems, Democrats can make it into an issue for voter suppression once they have the facts.
It also shows the absurdity of mass-mail-in voting. This adds variables to the process that would be completely inconvenient for most voters. It is obvious that fraud increases when it becomes easier for someone to take and steal ballots. This has been a California hallmark. Beyond that point, your ability to deliver and return a ballot depends on another party. There’s a reason going to the polls has been the preferrable way to vote for the entirety of US history. Democrats have made things more complicated by seeing mass mail-in vote as a way to get ahead. There’s no logical reason for it and plenty of reasons to avoid it.
So what’s the Democrat plan here? It’s likely to demand an extension for the voters they claim are being disenfranchised. These ballots could prove to be sufficient to get McAuliffe past the finish line. Fairfax County could then report its results late, which would leave no other option. I’m sure that will happen, too, and then we could get the true 2020 election experience.
