An immigrant from Venezuela spoke out to Daily Caller News Foundation regarding signs that the United States is heading towards socialism.
Andrés Guilarte has a stark warning for U.S. citizens. Guilarte, who is currently seeking asylum in the United States, is currently living and working here. He has been in the U.S. for three years and says that government attacks on freedom of speech and currency controls have played a part in “rising inflation and rampant crime.”
Guilarte honed in on the fact that President Joe Biden does not take responsibility for his policy failures, but blames everybody else in sight – Putin, GOP, COVID-19, oil companies, and big corporations.
To the gas station operators and pump price-setting companies, my message is clear: This is the time of global war.
Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you’re paying for the product. Get it done now.

Guilarte said this to The Daily Caller
“In a socialist regime, leaders always have to deflect blame for the country’s struggles to something else; they do not claim responsibility.”
Guilarte continued:
“Inflation is a huge issue. It is absurd to not trust the government and be unable to freely speak. But if money is available, it’s possible to still live, breathe, eat, and eat. Venezuela’s crime problem is not controlled. My biggest fears were always was I going to eat that day and was I going to get robbed or killed.”
Guilarte added that crime and inflation increased due to “consequences of policies.”
“Inflation is because of price controls, currency controls and printing of money. Crime because criminals don’t care about the provisions on weapons, they still carry, and you have no means to fight back.” Guilarte added.
Guilarte suggests you can stop inflation with policies
“Some people here in the U.S. try to implement price controls, but you can revert that once a different person gets into power. Inflation can be undone with the correct policy.”
Guilarte stated that Americans have lost faith in democracy.
“The bigger issue is when you lose trust in the institutions and the democratic system. The government is in control of all the institutions, so there’s no balance of power. [institutions]. The people don’t trust the government, the institutions, the police, the military or any figure associated with the government. When you reach that point, on a cultural level, when people don’t trust institutions, that’s when you start getting into big issues.”
Because the far-left is trying to transform our country into Venezuela and Cuba, our founding fathers, our veterans, our heroes and our current military personnel didn’t fight for our independence or freedoms.
Both capitalist countries and freedom must be protected. Freedom can be taken away from us, but it isn’t free. Ronald Reagen used to say:
“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”
We will soon be heading towards socialism if President Biden listens to the far-left like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Cori Bush, Ilhan Omar, Jamaal Bowman, and Cori Bush (D-MO), Ilhan Omar, Jamaal Bowman, (D-NY), and Ilhan Omar, among others. He cannot bow to the far-left.
Guilarte outlined the path our country is on to socialism. This is what many Americans find frightening and justifiable.
Along with other families, my family fled the soviet Union. They fled communist China and Cuba. They are well aware of the risks associated with socialism and communism. That’s why they embrace freedom, they embrace the United States of America, and they are beholden to our veterans and heroes that serve to keep American freedoms ringing.
