The Army has made it easier for you to enter. Aspiring soldiers who don’t have a degree can hang Sig Sauer M17s issued by the government from their homes.
Military.com reported that the U.S. Army has dropped its requirement that enlistees have a GED or high school diploma to be eligible for service.
This comes, per the outlet, amid an “escalating recruiting crisis.”
The service made it clear that anyone may join the military without requiring education certificates if they send to basic training in this fiscal year (which ends October 1.
It is important to be aware that all applicants must still pass a test.
A recruit must also be minimum 18 years of age and have the qualifications to work in active-duty Army. They also must score at least a 50 on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, or ASVAB, an SAT-style quiz to measure a potential recruit’s academic ability.
But don’t call the standard sky-high…
50 is considered a very low score. 31 points are required for eligibility to serve. For combat arms positions such as cavalry scouts and infantrymen, you only need to score a minimum of 50 points. However, for admin jobs like public affairs or human resource specialist work, scores must be at least 100.
How bad must the numbers be for the branch to market a “No GED Required” policy? Is the service still shooting at a “best and brightest” target? Either way, does a recall of the GED mandate broaden the pipeline for a flood of formerly-marginalized men and women?
It seems to me there’s a national contingent working against Americans joining the military. Any job is potentially fatal, as you all know. However, a large number of people seem determined to spread the message that this country is cancerous. And “Die for a Planetary Disease” doesn’t appear a superior sales pitch.
Strangely enough, even the woke have penetrated the Armed Forces.
At West Point, they’re teaching Critical Race Theory. Florida Rep. Mike Waltz published an opinion article about the topic for Fox News last year:
As a new graduate of the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, you receive your first orders as an Infantry Officer in Command of an Active War Zone Unit.
Your command is thousands of miles from your home, and you are responsible for their lives. Your unit is made up of soldiers from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities and religions, as in many other cases.
Keep in mind all of these things, but you also learned in a course funded by the government that certain institutions and units that you served, were inherently racist and should have an impact on your decision-making.
This could impact how you think about how to command a soldier against a machine gun. Do you feel guilty about choosing a soldier not of your race?
A populace turned against itself isn’t a citizenry comprised of people ready to die for each other.
And despite the woke message that America’s not worth fighting for, wokesters are the ones the Defense Department evidently aims to attract:

In an attempt to boost recruitment numbers, the Army and its sister service have resorted to offering more generous benefits as well as policy changes. The Army reached 40% of its goals in recruiting this year. Due to the difficult task of filling these ranks, the Defense Department had to reduce its total force size as it was unable meet prior recruitment goals.
These problems are made possible by a low rate of unemployment and an active civilian labor market. Employers offer increased wages and other benefits, even to entry-level workers.
What will our service branches do to find the future vets? That remains to be seen; but if I had to guess, I’d say a high school dropout who’s willing to die for country isn’t the same guy who’ll be forced to use a bearded bunkmate’s she/they pronouns.
