Two Teens Get an Object Lesson on Why the Second Amendment Matters – Opinion

Joe Biden went on a victory lap to get bipartisan gun control legislation onto the federal books. Despite the concerning red flag law provisions, the sexist and unnecessary “boyfriend loophole,” and the fact that despite this legislation being signed into law on June 25, it did nothing to prevent crazies from Highland Park, Illinois to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from obtaining guns and killing more people over the July 4th weekend.

Manuel Oliver was an invited participant. Oliver is a father whose son died in the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school in Parkland in 2018.

Biden may try to do more, but this is one of the reasons that he won’t get his way. So long as Democrats and his Administration continue to support and encourage criminals and penalize law-abiding residents, citizens will turn to the Second Amendment. Protecting their property and lives is a top priority.

Fox News presents this Texas-based story as an example:

A Texas father shot two attempted robbery suspects who approached his SUV with his wife and two infant children inside, police announced Monday.

When the teenage suspects approached their vehicle, the couple were just arriving at their home around midnight on Sunday night. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said that the suspects attempted to open the vehicle’s rear door, where the two children were seated.

“The adult male feared for the safety of his family and fired shots and struck both suspects,” Sheriff Ed Gonzalez wrote in a statement. “The wife was driving and drove away after the shooting to get away from the suspects.”

These foolish teens messed around and found out why Gun Rights Matter™.

The crime rate in Harris County is approximately two per minute according to Crime Grade. According to Crime Grade, 32.69 property crimes per 1,000 residents are committed in Harris County each year. Harris County is graded D because this number means that the majority of residents in Harris County are armed. Carjackers don’t care if you have children or elderly grandparents in your backseat, they only want your car. The father made sure he was fully prepared to protect his family. He did exactly that by disabling carjackers.

As more stories like this are reported, the Biden administration, and the feckless Beto O’Rourke, who is trying to unseat Governor Greg Abbott, will be hard-pressed to divest Texans of their guns.

The father and his family have been kept anonymous by police.

Police have opened an investigation into the incident but say the father was within his rights to open fire.

God bless Texas. This would have happened in New York and California. The father would likely be jailed, his name will be all over the media so that his family can be harassed. But, crime is still allowed to thrive in large cities under predominantly Democrat administrations. I expect that even Californians and New Yorkers will resist. Even though it was not a weapon, the New York Bodega proprietor who attacked a repeat felon with a knife to stop him from committing his horrific attack already showed this. As a fundamental human right, the human impulse to self-preserve is acknowledged. The Supreme Court affirmed that the Constitution afforded Americans’ the ability to exercise that right through the Second Amendment. It is likely that more Americans will opt to do this, especially when it comes to protecting their own lives and those of loved ones.

A quote from Robert A. Heinlein’s book, This Horizon and BeyondIt is common to snipe and use it out of context in support for gun rights. One of the reasons Heinlein’s character intimates that “an armed society is a polite society…” is because when criminals have to pay the price of being at the wrong end of the gun, it is a deterrent to crime, and also a way of culling the herd. Part of the quote also says, “We do not have enough things that kill off the weak and the stupid these days.”

Two teenagers were a perfect example of stupidity.

Lawful firearm owners exercising their 2A rights have changed that landscape, and despite Biden and the Left’s allusions otherwise, there will be no turning back.

It’s not hard to believe, but it is the best. A polite society will not exist in an armed society.. When one has to live up to his actions, good manners are a plus. To me politeness means being courteous sine qua nonOf civilization. That’s a personal evaluation only. However, gun fighting has strong biological uses. These days, there aren’t enough tools to eliminate the weak or the stupid. A man must be able to use both his brain and his hands to survive as an armed citizen. It’s a good thing.
