On Tuesday, multiple members of Congress were “arrested” after refusing to vacate the road that runs in front of the Supreme Court. Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Cori Bush, Ilhan Omar, and the rest of “The Squad” were led away by US Capitol Police after joining a protest centered on the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Before they entered, the USCP issued multiple warnings which went unheeded.
But that wasn’t the most absurd part of the spectacle. Rather, it was that Ocasio-Cortez and Omar busted out their “invisible handcuffs” in order to make it appear they were being forcefully detained. After it was revealed that handcuffs had not been used, journalists carried the story on their own before embarrassingly admitting defeat.
Tucker Carlson was on air and gave a monologue about the event. It featured many humorous observations.

I won’t describe the whole clip because it’s one of those things you really have to watch, but needless to say, Carlson roasts “Sandy Cortez” for pretending to be in handcuffs after pretty clearly doing everything she could to force the USCP to “arrest” her. Because, contrary to expectations, there were no actual charges filed, I used the word “arrest” in quotations. AOC was again granted a photo-op without any consequences for violating the law. That’s America’s dual justice system for you.
Carlson then goes after the media for taking AOC seriously, playing a montage of journalists describing her experience on January 6th as “harrowing,” a word that was apparently part of the distributed talking points at the time. What was AOC’s actual experience on January 6th? Well, she wasn’t even in the Capitol Building, so not much. But she’s nothing if she’s not a committed actress, and the media are always willing to do their duty in promoting her.
AOC claims that she pretends to be handcuffed to dodge a resisting arrest charge.
This is not a place to fake it. To avoid resisting arrest and other charges, it is best to put your hands behind your head while being detained.
But given how you lied about a fellow rape survivor for “points,” as you put it to me, I don’t expect much else from you. pic.twitter.com/lUc1TPS21D

You’ve got to love the “I’m from the streets” act she’s constantly putting on. How does she resist arrest? She is a New Yorker who grew up in New York and then went on to Boston University. The Capitol Police weren’t even trying to lead her away. She could have walked away herself, which is what Ilhan Omar did while doing the same “invisible handcuffs” routine. AOC is a political con-artist, so what does sexual assault have anything to do with it? As a magic shield, she brings up the subject often. However, I don’t think Rep. Nancy Mace would be interested in playing along.
You have to appreciate the farcical antics of Washington politicians, specifically those who fancy themselves “Democrat socialists.” These are children in positions of power, and they should be treated as such.
