Transgender ‘Female’ REJECTED from Every Sorority at University of Alabama

Grant Sikes was a freshman Male at University of Alabama. He tried to join a Greek Life Chapter for Females. He was unfortunately dropped just one day prior to bid day.

At the end of last summer, #BamaRush trended on TikTok and has been popularized again. This trend allows students to upload photos of their day and updates to UA sororities to show the world what they are doing. With the aid of social media algorithms, there are only a handful of people that stand out each year online. These users are called “the main character of BamaRush.” This year, TikTok’s shining star was Grant Sikes.

Sikes started posting on TikTok August 6th, and by the 8th had attracted over 57,000 new followers. Sikes now boasts close to 115,000 TikTok followers less than a week later. Sikes was propped up on the platform with his followers while opposition were censored. Sikes blocked me and TikTok twice censored me during my sacrifice to carry out my research. TikTok doesn’t like that I “trust the science” on Grant’s actual gender.

I find his videos quite cringey and seem to mock women and girls.

Sikes was dropped by all of the sororities before rush week began. And on the day before the concluding ceremony called “bid day,” a phone call indicated that Sikes wasn’t chosen to be part of any female sorority. The sororities are not to blame.

On Saturday, Aug 13, Sikes posted a TikTok video expressing how sad he was that he can’t “be a part of a sisterhood.”

On Instagram, which I had to view via a private browser due to Sikes blocking me, he posted a four paragraph lament about his terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.

This chapter has ended. I’m done with my recruitment adventure. Being dropped from my last house this morning during primary recruitment at the University of Alabama doesn’t come as a surprise considering out of the almost 20 chapters- I was dropped by every single one except 2 before day 1.

I am hopeful of a future where everyone is welcomed for just being themselves — everywhere.

I knew Sikes would act in such a manner when I broke this story last week after one of MRC’s interns, Aubrey Tuell, was censored for questioning Sikes’ place in a FEMALE sorority (redundancy intended).

“He’ll probably throw a diva tantrum and complain that the school is transphobic,” I wrote last Monday.

Sikes might have been dismissed because, regardless of his leg length, he was not suitable for joining a sorority. The sororities are a group of distinguished young women who want to help the community. Women must have an acceptable GPA and a good track record in order to be considered. People speculate that Sikes didn’t meet these criteria regardless of whether he was biologically male, and this may be why he was rejected.

It’s unlikely that we’ll ever know why Sikes was officially dropped as there’s a large amount of secrecy dealing with Greek life.

This is an important win for safety and mental health of sororities of University of Alabama girls. Roll Tide ladies.
